Video Overview & Insights
♡ thanks for watching!! ♡
I just watched this again and was half way through before I realised I’d already watched it 🤣 but it occurred to me to suggest you buy a bag of brooch backs (easily accessible from online or hobby stores quite cheaply). Then anything can be a brooch! Maybe back the thing on a double layer of felt (or other fabric, use what you have) backing circles. Then glue your brooch back on. I like to put a strip of the felt/fabric over for security but you don’t have to. Look around you, wherever you are - I bet you can see a few things that could make unusual brioches ❤

my Pinterest:
I think the poet aesthetic vs academic aesthetic is much more laid back — kind of academia in slight disarray. That’s my take on it haha

I don't think this trend video is accurate or based upon current culture at all. No evidence. This isn't relating to anything culturally that we've experienced, I feel like she's just listed random things??

The khaki one is 100% Colonizer Couture. Yuck. I love the gummy trend and wilderkind and imperfect makeup.

I’m so fatigued with all of these trends it genuinely feels like everything is so recycled even just from 2025 nothing stands out as different or new and man I’m just so over trends in general this may be where I tap out of keeping up with what’s en vogue
More User Perspectives
I actually like that most of these are basically just a micro trend from the last few years re-done in a way that actually seems more honed in and organic. We rapidly cycled through so many micro trends these last couple years and its nice to see us reflecting on what actually seemed meaningful and inspired and going back to it. Hopefully this encourages people to actually incorporate ideas into their personal style instead of putting all their eggs in one microtrend basket, lol.
@Jarvisenjoyer❤fav brooched, fairy & goth
@serriak2221I'm the most severe goth, like straight out of a cold monastery in the Caucasus mountains, but the gummy/jelly/cute y2k fashion give me so must joy. Its remind me so much of my chilhood for some reasons, you know the 200—2010s era, Tamagotchis, cute transparent tech, the optimism of our childhood with saving the planet and making the world better, all the joyful maximalism and fun. I want to see this trend in the street! 😭💖
@SlightlyfuckedoliveoilI’ve seen that baby blue trend come and go so many times now. I don’t know what it is about it that it always comes back.
@witchykittyyThis all seems like a year behind… all of these were trends in 2025🤔
@artsonmymindYou know Valerie? You used two pics of her
@L.Lavender1:31 It reminds me of kidcore aesthetic! Love it!))))💖
@marichkaanimelolOMG I LOVE LACE!!
@banananutmuffins3818I love fawn print especially paired with a soft or muted pink
@skoomabearAcademia with a poet blouse= poet core? Maybe?
@tdhawk167Gummy I think is more tween and elementary age?? Except the nail art. Just my opinion. I feel if anyone wants to go all out with it at any age- go for it! We live in a great time of individual expression!
@tdhawk167Thanks for the insight Alice Cullen. I trust your foresight
@Yakshini0023Ooh 😯 YES the return of late 70s, early 80s bright, sunshiny, fruity, fabulously fun colours. Glitter. Sparkle. Disco.
Really do hope more colour comes back into vogue! Clothing. Accessories. Makeup. Nails.
I may as well have kept my entire wardrobe from the 80s (yes, I'm that old 😂) We were a bit more rigid in what was 'out' back then, and had specific things that you HAD to have - like cobalt blue mohair jumpers, often off one shoulder, worn with black, but on the whole I had elements of all of these trends. We did like our berets too 😂 but this is all so familiar to me. Brooches were big and bold, I had a huge diamante spider I loved! Matching earrings too, they were expensive, relatively speaking - black enamel with gold accent leopard head brooches, with matching bangles...if I see those again I'll think I time travelled 😆
@julierosie622:50 this reminds me of mid to late 90's. I.e. faux fur, tailored as well as bulky oversized clothing, large jewelry. Sophistication is returning and I love it!
@kar9990uggh I’m ill sad dehydrated due on my period probably lost my glasses vision fuzzy. I just wanted to say that. cute video. I’m fine.
@Saorise-k2tI’d like to see a video assigning each of these to the zodiac signs, that might be fun
@spaghettisawce5973I love the “Wilderkind” prediction! As someone who has always loved the “cottagecore” type aesthetic, this is perfect!! The deer-print nails are so so cute too!!
You literally did so good on these predictions I love most of them… the doily/lace trend and the pin/brooch trend was such good ideas!!
Happy new year! 🙌
Love a academia/ mob wife mashup 😍
@evelynratcliffe9021the problem with fashion waste is not just stuff that ends up in landfills, but that clothing sheds a ton of microplastic everywhere into soil and water, and trends like accessories also contributes to the problem, possibly even moreso
@sandrasim46Either way I think all of them are pretty and unique
@L.G.127Scorpion moon Here. Same dark romantic aesthetics
@dianalotero4937Lol I think the ages that they list must be based on the given ages of the pinterest users who were saving the pins the most, but then where did the genXers go?? Super interesting but also slightly uncomfortable to see so much of what i've pinned showing up in the trends 😅 A lot of these styles are very different from eachother, I think mostly, people are wanting to see something individualized and unique
@XNoXLongerXI do love the pin trend, but not on my clothes. I have about 15 on a baseball hat. Thrifted a angel pin photo locket Today which I put an old picture of me and my sister in.
@dawnrhoads8794How all the trends miss Gen X ❤
@amandalongton9587I'm rooting to see more about the cool blue trend 🩵
@MaríaJesúsSevesTorresYesssss... Bring back the 80's!!! We truly knew how to dress and live our best lives back then... Loveee love love it... It will forever be my most favorite decade ever...... ❤💛💚
@GoWithDaFlowMoLiterally heard ppl calling it archaeologist atheistic 13:28
@mkl7526I love goth stuff and cyberpunk stuff also the wilder kind and the broaches and button trends the most and the blue lol but I’m into fallout and cyberpunk games a lot. I also like the poet academia one because I love to wear ties. Great video!❤❤❤
@LucyGooseyVault33The khaki core feels very Banana Republic. I wonder if I can do Wilderkind with eye make up (fawn spots). I like Wilderkind, the brooches one, the laced up one, the blue coded one, the poet core and opera core. And I agree with the person that said she would combine some of these trends.
@amgchainusKhaki and poet makes me think of the film Out of Africa. Love vampire and imperfection..
@TwoCoffinsForSleepThe khaki one looks like the sad beige mom version of academia.
@queenofboggle421Welcome back Alice Cullen
@aliteraloxymoronIsn't the gummy one literally a 2020 trend? I really like it but like, the clunky plastic accessories were all the rage back then. Wilderkind is cute, it feels like a more polished version of goblincore.
@RatOfSunshinemore importantly i feel like pinterest is dead wrong
@saraoz2629I was so ready to see whimsigoth, stars, moons, dark blue velvet when you said celestial.. I don't think the silver, futuristic, y3k style that's predicted, is something that's specifically trendy 2026. I've seen it the whole year especially in the minga london clothing brand, and it's very y2k leaning.. I'm ready for a change!
(Edited cause my writing is horrible)
I think it would be fun to mix some of these together. I’d like to see the futuristic silver with the crazy makeup, and the gummy look could be nice against the icy blue. Obviously a vamp could have a bat nature motif.
I would put the brooches on lace. A local artist made clothes from doilies, and the company name was Mad Mrs Rochester. 😊 I have a vest from them.
Yes, I think a couple of these are just new names for what already exists. Safari looks have been around a long time, the poet core is basically romantic academia, and the futuristic style has been around even before it was Y3K.
@christinamann3640It’s fascinating to look at astrology in fashion. Your moon sign is your comfort zone, what you feel at home in on days you need shoring up. In Scorpio, you find the dark restful.
As a Scorpio rising, it becomes a persona, a public face, or a first impression. A lens through which I see the world and through which others see me.
See, my faves were Wilderkind, Laced Up, and the Vamp one too!!! That’s probably why I love your style and I feel like mine is similar!!! I do love the blue trend, because blue is one of my top favorite colors. 🩵💖🩵
@Emily_onFashionGlamouratti appeals to me. Mob wife, yes please.
@plarsen2654I do like an overall trend towards maximalism, leaves room for more expression than the previous few years have (I hate the clean girl aesthetic)
@graceleathers5970Your whole vibe is so cute! Giving fairy 🧚
