Riderās Republic Essential Tips
After spending a good amount of time with Riders Republic, Iām really enjoying the game. The world is fun to explore, and the sheer variety of fun gameplay styles is actually pretty staggering. However, the controls arenāt always intuitive, at least at the start, and there are a few things when it comes to exploration making progress that I wish I knew when I started. So with this video, Iām going to first share some technical tips. How to learn the controls, how to perform tricks, stuff like that. Then Iām going to share some pointers that I think will make the world more fun to explore. I want to thank Ubisoft for providing a pre-release code for the game and with all that out of the way, letās dive into the world of Riderās Republic.
Is this Narrator Tucker Carlson?
1 Donāt forget to try Trickster and Racer modes
When you start Riderās Republic, one of the first things it asks you is, do you want to play in Racer mode or Trickster mode. Racer mode gives you control over the camera, but it requires you to use the face buttons to perform rotation tricks - those would be flips and spins. Trickster mode doesnāt allow you to control the camera, except when youāre on foot, but it does allow you to perform flips and spins using the right analogue stick, which admittedly, at least for me, did feel more intuitive. Now, relinquishing control of the camera during races and trick events didnāt bother me quite as much as I thought it would - I honestly think this is something most players will get used to - but not having control of the camera when I was exploring the open world was a bit of a drag. Now, you can either enter first person mode, or get around on foot if you want to look around, but in general, this is a world youāll want to look at as you explore. Anyhow, the game recommends starting out in racing mode, which I think is a good idea, especially if you just want to explore. However, if at any point you think you might want to become a tick expert, rack up super high scores in trick events, or if you just find yourself getting frustrated by using the face buttons to rotate your rider, try out trickster mode. Again, using the analogue stick to rotate my rider was definitely more intuitive and even races were still fun in trickster mode. Now, if you want to switch between control schemes, just go to the options menu and select the controller tab, then select either racer, or trickster. Finally, there is a third option here called Steep, which Iām assuming replicates the trick controls from Steep. However, I found this control scheme to be pretty confusing. For that reason, and to keep this video from getting too complicated, Iām going to limit my advice throughout to just Racing and Trickster modes. As for my recommendation, Iād go with with Racer mode. Itās the most flexible control scheme, and once you get used to it, it works great. However, if you want more intuitive trick controls at the cost of relinquishing the camera controls, go with trickster mode. And if youāve played Steep and youāre accustomed to that control scheme, go with Steep mode.
i dont understand why my player cannot do a seatbelt grab i am pressing the button it tells me-even on both right and left foot stance ;( and he either does the japan grab or the method grab im so confused (snowboard tricks)
2 Switch up your landing mode
After selecting one of the previously mentioned control schemes, the next most impactful way to adjust the experience of playing Riderās Republic to your liking, at least if youāre doing a lot of tricks, is to try out the gameās three landing modes. Thereās Auto Mode, Manual Mode, and Steep Mode. Manual mode is the most challenging of the three because it gives you complete control over your rotation during spins and flips. Rotate too far, or not far enough, and youāll wipe out. Itās not the easiest thing to get the hang of, especially in Racer Mode where rotation is triggered by pressing the gamepadās face buttons rather than by tilting the right analogue stick. But thatās where auto mode comes in, which will cause the game to automatically time rotations for you, so you land perfectly upright on virtually every jump.
Just bought this today on Steam and first tried playing with my XBXO 360 controller but then tried M/K as I've been a PC gamer since like 2010. I really suckat using a controller but I know it's the way to go.
More User Perspectives
bro i was very good at riders republic before i couldnt play it due to ps4 servers stuff and now when im back im worse than i was when i was newšššššš
@exz3270Just noticed it's on gamepass, about to try it for the first time, it looks pretty cool!
@kuruptsoulI know I am late but I just bought the game yesterday. I am having a blast. I enjoyed a challenge called thread the needle. I had to get across a gorge on a bike across a tight rope in a think it was 50 seconds. It was hard but worth it when I figured it out.
@briandugas1648Almost everything in this video was a question i had. I appreciate it!
@IvanKuznetsovzTrips and tricks is outdated as the game has added new modes kike assisted extš
@EgorZA82This was by far the least in depth guide ive ever seen. So, for those that havent gotten it already and tested it out, heres a quick in depth actual guide to it.
1. Take the time to practice your frontflips, spins, and mctwists, the score multiplier is greatly enhanced with the skateboards.
2. L1/LB switches stances, but it does not change the tricks you do, so stance specific tricks are out of the question
3. The only real difference between street and ramp is the tricks, ramp has more grab tricks while street has more flip tricks
4. if you are coming up to the lip of a ramp slow enough, you can hold forward on the left stick and L2/LT to do a nose stall,then just let go of the left stick to go back down the ramp, or flick the right stick down to ollie out. you can also do a board stall by leaning and half way doing a transfer but this is way harder, the timing of the ollie and lean have to be perfect.
5. If youre going to try the skateboard, i HIGHLY recommend using trickster mode for the controls, with flip/spin assist turned off, it will make doing tricks, and making tricks flow together, a billion times easier
I have a question. The events are the races ?
@MasterRon1n8670for me, manual landing mode is pretty easy becuz of my play time. so I recommend to start with it to not need to learn it later.
@lepoodNah bro im gonna play in fucker mode
@Ikirupp1994How do i open the map on kbm?
@couchpotato2672great video! cool game
@jaygilliland3371Manual landing is fine
If you played any game like this at least once youāll get it easy
A perfect introduction for someone who is about to get the game.š
With the different playing modes ,landscapes and rides it reminds me of three of my favourite games from the ps2 days ,SSX3 ; smugglers run 1; and any flying game I could get my hands on, not to mention tony hawk or even aspects of GTA.
Honestly I will probably get 'Steep' as well , so I am interested to hear your/Peoples opinion if it is worth having both.
Why isnt there a quick button to switch between the two modes???
@thumper_133Can anyone tell me I think it is a glitch but after I completed a challenge I canāt exit the leaderboard screen even after I press all the buttons Iām on ps5
@berrygamingidle2887Where do I start races ? Iām lost
@shivankitssI bought the damn thing a week ago for the skateboarding.
I paid 40 bucks, and now i have to pay another 20 IN THE GAME TO UNLOCK IT!!!!
Screw Ubisoft. Pirate this.
trickster mode + manual mode is just painful bc you have more touchy air control with your joy sticks and not your face buttons
@hii-uc9ntDo you need to win events to win gear?
@NoSkreetsThats why I like racer mode. Just press a button for jumping. In Trickster mode whenever I try to perform a normal jump it always goes over into a flip. Because I played Skate more often it's hard to switch.
@StrandgaZtI just wish they brought the camera up a little bit in trickster mode, I feel like I'm always looking at the ground and cant see where I'm going and we dont have control over the camera...
@MessiahJesus111I didnāt know Tucker Carlsonās brother play riders republic
@KevinHarrisDrummingIs this game available on PS5?
@ajay2711I know that there is a tricks event to do where the game recommends using first person for races
@AragonLunaHow to get overboard
@varly7884never use first person mode, its impossible to steer.
@purefoldnz3070This is an awesome game. Just started playing it. Itās just fun!
@pressrepeat2000Trick academy? U can literally pause game and check the truck list
@imazombieee8949Holy shit. Is this another introduction? Seems like these are things that u already have to pick. Glad u explained how well; we have to pick. Fucking crazy deep. I thought the game stopped enough to let you know this shit. Guess I was mistaken.
@imazombieee8949Steep mode is the bestā¦
@jt54965Honestly haven't spent ANY time paying attention to the story, just been exploring the map and flying around
@gruguto81As a steep player, I just bought this game, and I'm glad they added steep controlsš
@astronomicrealminsert pros
@BassyyyMan I just wish thus game actually controlled like steep did. I mean there is a steep co trol option but to me, I don't feel the difference. And that nose manual thing is kinda pissin me off a little bit.
@DEdPoolioIn 1st person i get a spood booster. And I fart alot
@maruanopl8756This game won't even let me choose biking mode wtf
@ronnienewsome800Thank you for this i just got the game and i was very happy on your tips :D
@ImJustJackBro I'm definitely trickster I'm so used to descenders witch is the same but worse
