I completely missed the cursor opportunity , the lesson.
But I've been allowing a black wasp to have free rein in my room for about an hour.

Zazen is good for nothing

These are some of my favourite zen sayings :))
I will say a little about my situation as this documentary was very illuminating. In my heart I can feel my seeking for something, that distortion and delusion. I was a soto zen Buddhist for several years and also practised in a zen monastery for a month on a retreat. At that time, suddenly I awakened to my inner voice. After having several satoris I accepted that my time there had come to an end and left the same way I had came.
In my life, I still love zen and infact I felt when I encountered Jodo Buddhism the feeling was indescribable. It's like I rediscovered it again.
My soul rejoiced and I've followed it ever since. In Jodo Shu we say once we are embraced by Amida Buddha we are never abandoned. I am sure that in a previous life I entrusted myself to Amida but was not ready until this life to fully accept the teachings đđť
It's interesting they arrive in the temple and they have the same questions I suppose I did and we all can have. What is the meaning of life, why do we suffer, etc?
In my view, both of these questions though they may appear different are the same. They are connected.
What is the meaning of life for me is to follow the Buddha's teachings.
Why do we suffer for me it's because we do not follow the Buddha's teachings đ
The more I follow the Buddha's teachings the less I suffer. As a Jodo Shu Buddhist it's ok to be a lay person, we don't need to be a monk to follow the teachings wholeheartedly.
Though in zen perhaps that is not the case.
I live my life meaningfully and with gratitude. There are times when I feel upset, or seeking, etc. But, I just recognise those feelings hopefully quickly and accept them đ
Thanks for reading
May all beings be healthy and whole.

@maapaa2010Balance must be đđź
@the_inner_game_YTIt strikes me that; most of these folks are here at the monastery seeking "something". How does that square with the claims that Zen teaches "nothing"?
@richardpchaseii5084Salute to these monks away from life trying to search and fimd the truth.... Could. U pls share the experience of zen practitioners who could say that they have succedeed kn what they set out to do... Pls. Help. And support in knowinh this, it will help for people tp set out on this path, thanksđ

@JackFrost008As someone who practice Zen Buddhist meditation, I really appreciated the documentary. I think Hirotada should do the same thing as Buddha did, looking for his answers than go back to his kids as a monk, as a father or maybe both.

@tanmaykhandelwal4082So just meditate and do chores all day?
@just_kidding-j2eSomehow sad, these young monks, searching for something in nothingness. When I was in the pain of my life at the dentist, the dentist briefly stroked my forehead with her finger. After that, I could endure all the suffering in the world. I wish the monks could experience that. Touch from outside, so in a metaphorical sense, of course. Perhaps that's a miracle.

@MrSeanMDickinsonThis was beautiful ⌠I unlearned allot and learned allot⌠this might be the way for me. âď¸đ¤đ
@MrSeanMDickinsonThe fact that you are commenting on a cursor just like I am means weâre distracted. Itâs ok, but just know that weâre asleep in that moment. If you know whatâs sleeping you know whatâs being awake.
@davidzimmerman5359If youâre lucky this comment might save you decades of seeking enlightenment. Did you ever stop and think that youâve never been fully conscious? Donât meditate or take mushrooms, just look around right now, just stare at things for 1 minute without thinking. This should be much easier than meditation because you have more to observe. Are you done? If youâre not stop reading because when you try the thought of the intent or expected outcome will disturb you when you do. Are you done? Just 1 minute. Done? Ok. Now tell me, what did you notice that needs to be done? When was the last time you thought about it? When next were you going to think about it? YOU ARE LITERALLY ENLIGHTENED JUST BY LOOKING. You are not going to see Buddha, Jesus, a ball of light but you will know what to do. Infact itâs impossible to not know what to do if you JUST look. Even an idea or some future decision in your mind. Itâs allowed to visiualize outside the present as long as youâre intending to do something about it now. Have you been indecisive about something. Visualize it all. Why? I donât know thatâs the point just look at it. Donât think, just look. This is too easy. If you say âwhat should I do?â you will never know, just visualize what youâre trying to decide. Donât say anything in your mind, just look at it, are you done?decide NOW! Donât think whether you have the decision or not đ you see thatâs your problem. Just decide, and not just randomly, this isnât majic, make the appropriate conscious decision, thereâs only one, never ever 2. Yes you know it, just look. Do you see it? That is the highest level of enlightenment. Youâve always had it and you turn it on for a few seconds once in a while. Now that you know it, just continue staring at your life with no judgement or emotion or opinion ALLOWING (not trying-you are the action) what needs to be done to be done. and start doing everything youâve ever wanted. Lazy? Just look at that thought? Oh itâs just a thought, I actually have way too much energy (literally). Indecisive? No youâre not, just a thought. Thereâs only one choice so what are you choosing? Unless itâs any, but if there is a choice to be made itâs only one and itâs as obvious as that phone youâre holding, you just never looked because you thought you you have to calculate, process or brainstorm. Guess what, there is no such thing as thinking or mental processing LITERALLY. All you do is look with your mind then your ego says you created the idea. As long as you think you did create the idea you were dreaming that whole time you âthoughtâ and you were stuck in delusion. But if you were just looking, whether with your eyes or your mind, just looking, then you were enlightened in that moment and the clarity is evidence. Sorry thatâs it. Thatâs enlightenment. No superpowers. But just being a human living consciously is more probably more powerful than all the superpowers you were imagining. Real time clarity inspiring real time flow (whether solutions or opportunities). AI will NEVER reach that level of consciousness you have. Wake up. If you made it here and you simply heard what I said (not understand) but actually heard what I said then Welcome to the real world. Where you always know what to do. Hereâs the catch, donât do shit if you donât know why? I feel like it is not a reason. I think Bla Bla is not a reason. Not why as in why are you doing it or is it profitable or ethical, just basically what is the result of this action period. Youâll be surprised how many things you do on autopilot. Possibly everything. Thatâs why scientists say 90% of your actions are determined by your subconscious (unconscious) as in not intentional . Yes, crazy huh? Google it. Now you know what enlightenment is. You literally no longer have a choice but to live fully just by looking. Thatâs the crazy observer effect. If you donât look at it it doesnât exist. No consciousness no life. Iâm not saying ignore problems to make them disappear. There is no problem, just life. Look at it and live. I do not wish you to have physical or financial complications but if you do donât give them those names just look at them with no emotion and you will have more clarity. Bending reality is bullshit, but clarity is always available and extremely underrated. Donât let it be corrupted by calling it silly names like enlightenment or awareness. Thatâs just fancy poetry. No supernatural powers, no telepathy or prophesy, just real time existence flowing the way itâs supposed to flow.
@davidzimmerman5359The West is so desperate for the spiritual fulfillment that these mfs will travel to the other side of the world just to get a particle (a really really really small percentage) of what the Eucharist and the Catholic Church alone can fulfill đ˘
@StFrancisEnjoyerWatching this, it's not about the Buddha; it's about the People in the Communities. When they Give, they Give out of their Hearts; so, as an outside observer, the Buddhist is responsible for those who they ask from. Obviously the Buddhist doesn't discriminate, so they're responsible for everyone they come across?
@GnortsOmenThere are no rules, there are only results.
@GnortsOmenEl Zen tiene un problema con hacer que estĂŠs una hora sentado, a la media hora ya estĂĄn contando los minutos para levantarse. Una tortura.
