Severe Storms Could Bring Damaging Winds to Middle Tennessee Saturday

FOX 17 News is under a Code Red Weather Alert as strong to severe thunderstorms are expected to move across Middle Tennessee and Southern Kentucky on Saturday.

Forecasters expect two rounds of storms, with the first arriving during the morning and a second round developing Saturday afternoon and evening.

Areas east of Interstate 65 have the greatest chance of severe weather, with a Level 2 of 5 risk for damaging wind gusts and heavy rainfall. While the tornado threat is low, it cannot be ruled out completely.

The severe weather threat is expected to diminish Saturday night, although showers and thunderstorms may linger into Sunday before cooler, less humid air arrives early next week.
