I don't even think Rockstar is greedy, their in game purchases include, GTA +, and Shark Cards, that's it. (I am not buying either of them but the game is still going to be just as entertaining)

To be honest, I think most of my disinterest is because EVERYBODY wants it. Overhyped mainstream stuff(music,games,movies) has always given me initial feelings of intense disgust.

GTA needs to keep pushing. It needs to elevate to become more than just a videogame. It can pave the way. It IS the greatest video game of all time. It has a lot of responsibility.

GTA 6 will fail. It's inevitable. It must. It's gping to flop and it'll be remembered as the symbol of the flop, just like E.T. in 1983. It will trigger the next great video game market crash and then the gamers will get their hobby back from the mainstream normies.

Let's be real, GTA VI is too big to fail. The sheer talent, manpower, time and money that has been pumped into that game over the last decade will make it massively impressive to a level that we have never seen.

Yes Rockstar isn't what it was 10-20 years ago. Of course it's not, it's evolved and grown. Change can be and often is good. Dan Houser said himself he was burnt out and felt like he didn't have another big title in him.

Rockstar has acquired a massive pool of committed, hard-working and talented developers since GTA V. To belittle their ability and work ethic just because they're not the original Rockstar core team (many of whom are still as Rockstar btw) is disrespectful and will be proven wrong when this game releases.

Up to 6000 of the world's best game developers have been working on GTA VI for the last 12 years with a budget of maybe $2 billion. Yeah, write it off at your peril.

One way or the other, this game will crash the AAA industry. Whether it succeeds or not.

If it succeeds in the same regard that previous titles have, it will crush the competition to the point of irrelevancy. It will be the first AAAA game.

If it only succeeds somewhat, then it crashes the industry by showing that there are serious diminishing returns. No matter how much power and polish you put behind a game, there's a limit to what the consumer base can handle.

If it flops, then everything crashes and multiple billion-dollar businesses will be going bankrupt before the decade is done.

It may be my overwhelming pessimism but I have a bad feeling about GTA 6. They’re gonna charge a lot for it (if they do their pay what you play model I’ve seen some rumours about the game will die off fast) and I feel like the changes in rockstars staff might have an effect on the charm and content from previous gta games.

GTA 6 is going to go full shock and awe scorched earth. The fallout will not be limited to the video game industry. If you are a major Hollywood film studio you do not want to have a movie compete with GTA 6. No one is going to theaters when this game comes out. No one will be watching shows on streaming services. In fact, the release of GTA 6 will be a three-pronged attack. Phase one, release of the game on consoles. Phase two, GTA 6 Online. Phase 3, release of the game on PC. When all three phases are in operation it will be difficult to get people to pay attention to anything else entertainment related. Relationships are going to suffer. People will take extended time off from work. No one will let anyone or anything come between them and playing this game. The world is literally going to stop when GTA 6 comes out, and it will dominate the entertainment landscape for years.

Rockstar is aware of what is going to happen after they release this monster into the world. Even they have to be a bit shaken by the enormous world-shattering power they are holding onto. I honestly don't think we are ready to handle GTA 6 despite how long we've been waiting for it. We cannot fully comprehend how it is going to consume our lives.

I have Palworld, Vrising, Warframe and a couple of singleplayer ganes I still enjoy. I don't need to buy a new game.
Price your games at 70 or at 100 bucks. I still won't buy them. The quality needed to justify 70 bucks is hard to reach, you wanna go to 100? Boy the quality to justify 100 bucks is so high it's impossible to make.

honestly GTA has been overrated for decades. 5 was fine but it got boring.

I think most GTAs have been very overhyped on how good they were and the "cultural impact" they supposedly had. GTA 5 was the only GTA to top best seller lists. None of the other GTAs have ever even made the top 10.

I got GTA 5 for like $15? Unless I severely misunderstand Rockstar, they want GTA 6 to also bring in like 15 billion across 10+ years? I don't feel much rush to play the game day 1. Once reviews are released and I've seen some gameplay, I can put a price on how much I'd be willing to pay to play it. If they want more, I can wait. If I have to wait 2 years? Fine, why not, that just means more content has been added since base game.

The main question is: can Rockstar do it again? Past success don't guarantee future success. I love GTA series but from a lot of hype and expectation can come a lot of disappointment. Look at Cyberpunk 2077, everyone on the planet expected it to be one of the biggest and best game in existent because it was made by CD Project Red and yet it didn't end well at least for the initial start. Or look at Battlefield 2042

Yeah, no. A game has to be something REALLY special before I'll spend more than $20 on it. The only games I own that cost me more than that are BG3, KCD2, and Oblivian remastered.
