SoundCloud for Artists Music Distribution

Video Overview & Insights

SoundCloud's new music distribution platform is almost the same as

Don't use it if you're considering it, they keep on rejecting my releases, consistently delaying my releases for entirely made up reasons, and dodging my every attempt to reach customer support. They are nothing but conmen.

— @djvysota

their previous iteration called Repost by SoundCloud. Nonetheless, it's a good option to distribute your music on Spotify, Apple Music, TikTok, and all those places.

The new rebranding is a promising sign that SoundCloud is actively developing the platform and adding new features and enhancing support.

hi, the big problem I find with soundcloud its impossible to get human customer service, just robot, so if you are stuck with a problem in the interface you stall

— @TVsultan

It costs $30/year for unlimited uploads and unlimited artists, you keep 80% of royalties. It's $10 more than Distrokid's basic plan, but SoundCloud doesn't have any upsells, so you get all the features for the same price.

SoundCloud for Artists isn't perfect by any means, but it's what I'm using for now. There's a lot of music distributors out there, and most of them are garbage. Gotta just pick one!

Does exclusive distribution rights include physical disk and CD sales

Great video. Thanks for the info

2:03 Rebranding to SoundCloud for Artists

2:25 What's new?

Hi, I think it makes no sense to use this for dj mixes/sets right? I thought initially, that I will use it in way that I upload only to soundcloud and Distribute that mix into other services like Mixcloud, YT, Instagram and FB. However with all the ISRC and Content ID's and the fact that I dont want to monetize on me putting together a mix from other artist track (I do it for fun of it) , I can go back to my old way of uploading to each service separately.

— @DjLeeCZ

3:20 Walkthrough

5:49 Terms of Service stuff

They take 20%. Why would anyone use their service when there's Distrokid who only charges a flat monthly fee of $20?

— @joedriver2588

6:40 My experience

7:25 Conclusion

I'm paying £10 a month and only use it to let people stream. Don't make anything.

Does anyone know how I can publish my EP from SoundCloud to Spotify? Because it only appears to publish tracks, but I'm afraid it will be published one by one and not as an EP on my Spotify.

I find the SC distribution platform buggy. The automated system keeps kicking out my releases. Made all the changes they kicked it back for, still will not go live. But its only been an issue recently, last year I didn't have any issues.... but the last few have been really a headache.....

@JesseLeeSmith

Are there any platforms that don't rip off independent producers

@pd177

Hi! Thanks for a great video. You mentioned in the video that the insights are just for Soundcloud, not the other places. I read that they don't have statistics from Spotify, but do you know if plays from Apple podcaster is included in the Insights play count?

Has anyone else been fooled by SoundCloud when it says it delivers your music to a relevant audience, but in fact it shows it to irrelevant people far outside of your niche? Does anyone else feel fooled?

By far and away my favourite video on this subject. Thanks for being concise and not talking about promotion 🎉

so it seems like as of 2025 the free plan only gives you 1 hour of uploads, the plus plan gives you 3 hours, and the pro plan gives you unlimited uploads. Obviously for someone just starting out its going to take some time before you have 3 hours worth of content depending on what you make, but it seems like they've pretty much rigged the system to force you to buy the pro plan eventually.

@mr_coldfield
@

My only issue is the lack of support -its non-existent, You supposedly are paying for priority support with a pro account, but two weeks and no answers, no human response. Very frustrating experience. I will not release my next track with them.

Thank you so much for your video, I have a query. My last EP has been aproved, but, when the released date arrive, will Soundcloud upload automatically the EP on Soundcloud too? or I need to upload by my own? Thank YOu so much

@juandavidacostajimenez9998

how do I link my personal YouTube channel to autogenerated soundcloud for artist YouTube channel?

@Elie_Yach
@

in August 2024 the service ist just a nightmare - monetizing song I am holding all rights ist just impossible - Verifying emails does not work (link within the confirmation email already exspired) - support is non exsistent - the help center is almost useless when it comes to non-standard problems - and even the chat bot gave up and is not responding anymore -

I don't think SC is very trustworthy at all - I prefer a professional distributor like DB or RJ - this is just "Kids wanna play with the big boys" - so sad - SC has seen better days

@wizzNarts

So are they considered a PRO?
CAN YOU USE LANDR AND SOUNDCLOUD FOR RELEASING MUSIC?

@cassandrahuskey8866

Hey, having trouble and understanding how this process works I have my song approved now. Do I have to wait for the partners to distribute because I keep checking Apple and I don’t see my track up. Do they eventually put it up after waiting for a while or do I have to apply?

@SanDiegosGreatest

Don't you love it when you have to pay a company for the privilege of making them money of your work?

@JimJWalker

@UFOgaming60FPS

Souncloud for Artist is the worse distributor, really bad, they will delete all your releases without advice and stole your royalties

@TeraMangala

@BitcoinBitz

Who can help me please. I choosed distributing my track through the SoundCloud for Artists, but still I doesn't see my track on Music Platforms! I texted to support, but they still silent! When SoundCloud will upload my tracks on all music platforms which they promise?? I started distributing the track on April 4, today is the 10th, so it's been 6 days. They don't answer me in support. How long to wait can anyone tell me!!!? Thanks!!!

@preenxus3425

I use the distribution feature and looks like TikTok has a check mark when distributing a song ... But when I go on TikTok I don't see my song in search. Do we have to make a Music Artist page on TikTok for our songs to show up in search?

@JonathanRHoleton
@

you made me a bit confused. i just made soundcloud for artist and i put a song that i've put on spotify as well. is not allowed?

@realitymirror2024
@

Hey man, thanks for this vid, I signed up for Next Pro and I'm wondering what happen if you want to distribute an Album, and not just a single song. Do you know if you have to upload one by one and then maybe connecting them? I've no idea. Thanks in advance!

@MauBigliante
@

How do you login Spotify artist profile with SoundCloud repost network?

@ScoobaSteveNC
@

How do I delete my artist profile and the songs I released on streaming platforms? I contacted spotify and they said I had to contact soundcloud. I contacted soundcloud and they only replied with how to delete my soundcloud, not how to remove my entire artist profile or songs on all streaming platforms.

@nxstress
@

Thanks for the info. Yes, that's why I continue to use CD Baby. I don't like monthly fees or being required to cancel.

@juliekovich-recordingartist
@

hi if you distribute with them, do they play it in streams or something? or is it just a place where people can buy it??

@thepsychonaut8212
@

For me, Soundcloud was originally a good idea. Now with Next Pro you don't have to so much pay to play, but pay to be heard!

@davidparker885
@

With Soundcloud for artists can you also separately upload your release to Bandcamp as well or is that against the terms? I'm a newbie to navigating the minefield of distributing my music and would appreciate a bit of guidance :-)

Hey Man I just wanted to Appreciate this vid, the latter part in particular when you spoke about how these platforms are all we have to connect, but it is your perception towards it & you mastered it.
