Born and raised and blessed to still live on those chalk cliffs. Other countries have majestic landscapes and incredible architecture and fascinating history, don't get me wrong, but Britain is so sweet, so domestic, so gentle... Every time I go for a walk I feel like the luckiest person on earth!

Word of advice for tourist.....do not do as this man did in the beginning of the video!! You risk death, as many have already experienced. Cliff collapse happens often due to the weak chalk.

Great video. You picked some really pretty villages and your short clips show just enough to hold viewers interest and pique their curiosity. The video framing and narrative is very good and your commentary holds interest. Well done. Some other content producers could learn from how you present. What we say is everything as to whether people engage or skip.
I used to live in Kent and so these villages in your video are really nice to see again. I now live in Cornwall where I have lived since 2010. I seldom travel out of the county because everything I need is here in beautiful Cornwall.
The music is great . Good choice, but on my TV and home cinema I was constantly playing with the volume. The soundtrack could do with a better balance as when you were talking with no music I had to turn the volume up and when music I had to rapidly turn it down to avoid disturbing neighbours. Otherwise I loved it. 😊

OK, so this guy makes fewer mistakes than Wolter the Wally, and also has more of a grasp on how to pronounce British place names. But the one thing he muddles up is the names of the various historical eras. He has a tendency to label anything before the Georgian as Medieval - and so a lot of people pick up on that and do the same. In either this one or the one I watched before it he even plonked Henry VIII into the Medieval! He also refers to the "Dark Ages" which Historians dropped a few decades back, instead using the term "Post Roman" - there was nothing "dark" about it. The Medieval period ended around the 1400 hundreds - though there are those historians who reckon even that is a bit late. And completely leaves out the Renaissance. Yes, it started in Italy, but it was so important that it spread across Europe and led to great moves forward in Science, Art, Architecture, Literature, Fashion, Architecture.



I think it would help you a whole lot if you were to go and look up the various eras - not in Wiki, but in British historical sources.- Getting those straight in your mind will help you to place various people in the right time period so you can trace the march of history...and it all starts to make sense. Also - you'll find that British history (and London itself) did NOT start with the Romans...various places are still standing that are over 10,000 years old and that had indoor plumbing (including inside toilets), while various settlements in what is now London date back to the Paleolithic.



So yes, our history is long; but it isn't unfathomable. If you can date it properly you'll find the correct historical time periods dividing it up into bite-sized pieces so you don't think just random names & throw them out there: you'll know who belongs where and why and when. You've garnered so much knowledge since you started this channel that it constantly amazes me, but it will amaze YOU once you start getting the march of time straight in your head. Things will fall into place and many of the "why" questions (like William of Orange not "conquering" England.) will disappear. It really has been 1,000 years since we were last invaded...and it was this knowledge that made us so dogged in our determination not to allow Hitler to do it! See what I mean?

Hatch was the ratter on board the Mary Rose, responsible for catching rats – although he may also have acted as an unofficial mascot. Contrary to popular belief, cats aren’t that good at ratting, as many rats are big enough to fight back. Dogs such as terriers were considered to be much better at ratting, and many modern breeds were selectively bred for that task.

According to DNA analysis on his teeth, he was a young adult male, between 18-24 months old, with a light brown-dark brown coat.

He may have spent his entire life on board the Mary Rose.

Hatch can’t be attributed to a specific breed, most of which were developed after 1545.

DNA analysis undertaken by the University of Portsmouth looked at which modern breeds he was most closely related to. They classed him as a terrier-type, most closely related to the modern Jack Russell terrier.

He also shows similarities with whippets, so we refer to him as a terrier/whippet mongrel, or a lurcher.
