Rick Reilly, one of America’s preeminent sportswriters and a member of the National Sportswriters and Sportscasters Hall of Fame, is the author of the New York Times bestseller, Commander in Cheat: How Golf Explains Trump (2019).

Based on Reilly's own experiences with Trump as well as interviews with over 100 golf pros, amateurs, developers, and caddies, Commander in Cheat is a startling and at times hilarious indictment of Trump and his golf game.
Reilly reveals how Trump cheats (sometimes with the help of his caddies and Secret Service agents), lies about his scores (the "Trump Bump"), tells whoppers about the rank of his courses and their worth (declaring that every one of them is worth $50 million), and tramples the etiquette of the game.

@johnforeman634Contrary to popular belief, there is no such thing as taking a "gimmie" or a "mulligan" in a legitimate USGA officiated golf match.
Those are just terms used by hacks playing "make believe", "pretend" or "kiddie golf".
Ironically, golf (along with chess) is one of the few games where there is no such thing as cheating.
That's why you never hear of a player taking a dive in the third round, shaving points, bribing officials, or throwing a match.
It's one of the few purest forms of competition in the world in which he has no part.

If you want to take a little foot wedge to knock the ball off of some roots or something while playing with some buddy’s for fun, I don’t really care. I’d much rather you not break your wrist or your club, we’re just there to fuck around and have fun.
But in a club championship or any sort of event where you’re playing a match, absolutely not. It’s a shame he owns those courses, because if he didn’t, they’d probably kick him right out.
I’d love to put some cameras on him and just count how many times he cheats in a 18 hole round.
