I’ve been a big Hyatt fan for years and used to have what they called “Diamond” status which I guess today is globalist.
I don’t stay at enough Hyatt and usually use points to stay for free for my credit card so I don’t have the same status I used to.
Once you get to the highest status at Hyatt everything changes for the better.
One of the things I’ve appreciated most about height is the front reception or Manager‘s ability to make things happen to make things right for the customer almost every time.
This decentralized management is really spectacular.
Unfortunately, it’s getting harder and harder to book nights using points unless you book way in advance.
I’m trying to get a room in Oakland California using points for tomorrow which is a weeknight.
There’s absolutely nothing available using points, which considering how many hotels there are seems a bit odd.
I think the point system used to be better, but the system has gotten diluted.

I'm waiting to see what the new Hyatt CC will offer later this year. I would like to a Hyatt CC with a Globalist status. I'll be will to pay as much as what Marriott and Hilton charges for their cards.

I appreciate the detailed info. 👍 I'd only add it's sometimes not possible to book rooms using points due to demand. I was able to book one of the last rooms at a category three but 5 months in advance. We don't have Hyatt credit cards in Canada but it is still a very nice program without a credit card. I feel appreciated as a Hyatt patron.

I have 42 stayed nights within three months this year and then they drop this news. I don't know if it's worth it to maintain my globalist status if I need to work my vacations around it. At certain point, the lack of options, high stay count to maintain status, and devalued points will make this program less and less attractive. Once they get rid of the confirmed suite upgrade then this program is deader than dead.
As someone who travels a lot and stay around 80-120 nights a year in a hotel, and force my team to stay in the Hyatt with me, I contribute a lot to this program. But if they change it too much then I can take my and my team's business elsewhere.

Bummed because we just finally got in the Hyatt program and started transferring Chase points there last year. Cashed them in for our anniversary in Chicago, New Year's Eve in Atlanta, 3 nights in Miami pre/post cruise. Also we recently stayed at the Regency in Sofia and Mexico City and have a Vegas Hyatt stay for two nights coming up. Hope my wife's CSR bonus hits before the changes so we can go on a booking spree!

@stephaniejohnsonm.s.2687Maybe some properties will feel less worth spending points after devaluation but compared to other hotel chains Hyatt points seem to go much further.
The milestone awards are also great. I wish other chains showed this level of appreciation for loyalty.
That new award chart is just dynamic pricing by another name.

@Sultan-nx4izStaying at Hyatt Regency in Barcelona for one night and then the Grand Hyatt Barcelona end of May. Hyatt Regency with points after a late night arrival. Grand Hyatt is being booked with Chases “The Edit” benefits, free breakfast, upgrade, $100 resort credit and $250 reimbursement with the Saphire reserve. I don’t have endless miles but your channel has definitely helped me save money and stay at some great resorts.
