Tesla’s Biggest Test Starts Now

Video Overview & Insights

The next few weeks may be some of the most important for Tesla investors in years. Not because of one headline, but because several pieces of the puzzle are finally coming together.

I commented months ago that Tesla FSD testers and users lacked emergency response procedures and that this was a big oversight. After all accidents are a part of everyday driving and you can ask any driver about what happens and how to respond in a gas car.
There are small fender benders and major collisions often at speed. So that is why we all have to have insurance. We all have to cooperate and potentially communicate with emergency vehicles and personnel. So there is no excuse for Tesla not taking the appropriate time to develop and convey it's emergency response protocols. Even if they have to advertise and make commercials or videos to the public on this topic. This has not been done. There is not one YouTube video on this topic and there probably should be dozens. It is perhaps a step in the right direction now that we here more about documents submitted to officials in this regard.
To test this thesis consider if a Tesla vehicle or robotaxi running on FSD has a serious collision in a major intersection or highway. Who does the policeman talk to. Who decides to move the vehicle to the side. How do others involved in the accident know what if anything the car has done. Does the average police officer know how to communicate with a Tesla. Will a Tesla obey verbal commands from a police officer???

Herbert sir, with all due respect, Tesla seems to be saying they may need huge number of miles in CyberCab. Maybe as much as 1B in CyberCab to rerun the models well. It seems to me that is what Lara was saying. So they will need 10000 driving around all the time. Let’s hope they can launch some service still.

Yes. When I was in SF and called a robotaxi it was going to pick me up at the back door of the hotel, so I moved the pickup point to the main entrance.

Cybercab and Robotaxi are hyped and they won't be on the streets soon. They are doing this to push the Tesla stock high

Let's get brighter!

Here is the thing. There are going to be accidents. Some will be the fault of other cars and some will be the fault of Tesla cars. Hopefully, most accidents will be minor. The accidents will have to be studied. This is going to take time before there is willingness by Tesla to put hundreds of cars on the street.

Great YouTube video with Jo.!

I think you are absolutely correct about Robotaxi pickup needing work. I don’t know why they can’t just use Summon “Come To Me” logic. Integrate that with the Robotaxi app. I think that would pretty much solve the problem assuming Summon for Robotaxi is very reliable.

Tesla is amazing and an easy bet, however I've seen the population miss this, not feeling the same way I am. I'm concerned that Robotaxi will hit, full force, and would be investors won't care. It doesn't seem possible, but I don't undersatnd why the stock has dropped from $450+

People experiencing Cybercab and Robotaxi along with FSD becoming better than the best human drivers should also drive a major increase in demand for Model 3 and Y sales!

I noticed a cybercab driving through Livonia, MI on June 27. It was one of the matte gold ones ("Tesla Engineering Prototype | V_001")
My first spotting ever. Very cool. There was a driver, it had a steering wheel and side mirrors. None of the lidar gear glued to it.

There's going to be multiple stages of politicians stepping in to stop cybercab. First will be uber, Lyft and the yellow taxi companies lobbying that they are going out of business and all the drivers are losing their livelihoods. Second will be when the transit companies start to report that less and less people are riding the bus and subway systems and that cybercab needs to be stopped so it will be a long rocky road. Politicians aren't going to just let their public transit systems go bankrupt especially the ones that have spent billions recently to upgrade such as Vancouver.

Tesla is building inventory 500 cars per location plus service centers built and staffed. It will be massive when they flip the switch. Giving great service when they start. I have been saying this for months.

I think the brand isn’t damaged yet by the slowness - because most people don’t have a clue….. when it’s real they’ll need 500 ea asap

Lars Moravi said everybody's underestimating Tesla's ability to mass-produce. Next Tuesday, Tesla will make a major announcement that I believe regards mass-scaling. I believe you're both underetimating Tesla, that Tesla's mass-launch starts next week with potentially hundreds or thousand Cybercabs rolling out each day. Given that each Cybercab reports back anomalies immediately to the factory floor, and they are able to make changes in design swiftly (as Lars hinted), I would also be surprised to see a flatlining, or stop in production other than due to regulatory hurdles and permissions. Eventual changes to the design of the Cybercab that will have to be made due to the multiplication of unforeseen problems encountered in mass-scaling, Tesla will be able to handle swiftly if not instantly. Hence, no need for long waiting times (months) to evaluate unforeseen problems and make design changes. I bet Tesla will be able to saturate all the current testing areas with Cybercabs in short order (in days or weeks rather than months). Good shows you guys have, by the way! Together with Tesla Larry, the best.

@S_Padival
@

@brighterwithherbert Tesla will never make decisions to appease customers. You’re wrong on that point. Safety first with zero consideration of if people are getting pissed and impatient because once it does roll out. Everyone will forget how long it took

@slackerr

They've already been testing. Haven't we already seen vehicles without steering wheels on the road for months, and supervised self driving for many more months.

Good for Jo Bhakdi admitting that he got "a bloody nose" on his predictions regarding timing. To admit his over-optimism and mistakes is admirable and makes him more credible, as long as he does not become arrogant later on, whatever the reality is at the time regarding Tesla and cybercabs/robotaxis. On the other hand, Herbert does an excellent job of challenging some of Jo's assumptions or ideas, which is important for a balanced approach. I admire those folks who keep proper perspective and balance and who also are forced to do some introspection and learn from it. 🤔

Herbert. I watched every single video and consume all of your content.

I’ve got to say that back in April when you and other Tesla analysts were receiving a lot of heat about being consistently bullish, you have definitely added some bearish perspectives and calling out what could go wrong. Your videos feel much more intellectually balanced and very honest.

Well done man, your content is honestly the best out there.

@elderbieler
@

I like to approach more to give basic info than forecast things not know… That is the problem of Jo, he always want to make a prediction of something, while the basis are enough interesting…

@michaelsly901
@

I'm not sure how both of you are failing to realize that you don't roll Cybercab out until it's ready and then you unleash it. You don't need paying customers to determine the state of readiness and for the very reason you mentioned, it's a brand, you don't offer consumer rides prior to that ready state. The very things Uber understands are the things Tesla is learning and why so many are willing to utilize Uber. Lazy does not win the day. Fully integrated, generalized AI solution, at scale, dominates. There are no table stakes in this arena. Cybercab unsupervised started roaming Austin yesterday. We are very close to mass deploy in Houston, Dallas and Austin, 8.15.2026, and FSD unsupervised in Texas. As soon as Tesla feels good about liability, they will do it and shock the country. It's game over that day. My guess, October 10, 2026, is Unsupervised Day in TX. If these things don't happen, there is something wrong with FSD. Tesla is the only thing holding Tesla back at this point.
