3:40 is a twelve month lease set in stone when applying for a non o extension. If someone plans to stay for say for seven or eight months per year is there a work around to accommodate that person.

The hardest part with the OA is probably the vaccination records. A lot of us have had the vaccinations done, but who has records of when they were done? For that reason alone, I think you're better off with the type O. As Mark pointed out, you need to have a letter from the bank on the same day as your interview, as otherwise I would suggest showing up early at immigration. (Don't forget the letter!) Bottom line is you're going to waste 2.5 to 3 hrs, but you'll only have to do it once a year. The only good thing I can say about dealing with immigration online is that they will keep your file open while you collect information if you forget something. Overall, I found them very pleasant to deal with.

Do make sure your TM30 is in order. Mark can't confirm, but it's either 24 or 48 hours after arrival, your landlord (in my cases wife) needs to report. Easy to do online, but it's a big hassle if it's not done, and can result in fines for your landlord. I think it's 1600 baht if you fail to report. Immigration is also the immigration police, so yes, they will enforce it. This is not on the applicant, but it will certainly hold up your visa.

For the Thai bank account, make sure you bring originals. Thailand is not really keen on copies. Would not hurt to have an original Social Security card or something like drivers license or state ID. Even though I provided a marriage certificate and Social Security number, and plenty of time remaining on my visa it was still kind of sketchy until I provided my driver's license number. They are really cracking down on this stuff. An original birth certificate and/or an original Social Security card would help.

I'm leaning towards the LTR visa , please advice, both applicant and spouse above 60, has the required passive income of USD 80,000 for more than 3 years in his home country bank.

Must applicant deposit USD 80,000 or more in a Thai Bank? Is bank statement sufficient?
As per the BOI, must applicant invest X amount of dollars in Thailand?
As per Thai Official website, I read one needs USD 1million as assets.
LTR application fee is THB 50,000 for a family or per person?

I have extended my non-OA a few times. I have never needed a health assessment after the initial document showing that I don't have certain obscure diseases. Just proof of health insurance.

Hey confused the non o marriage visa I know u need 800000 baht in bank account for 2 months and after u extent visa 1year u need the 800000 in bank for three month after extension but on the following 1year extension u need only 400000 or the 800000

Thai embassy Bern Switzerland confirmed in writing that financial requirements ie 800000 pp can be proven with Swiss bank account. I asked this because I want visa for my wife and me before we emigrate. Of course once in Th we will open a bank account and still make this deposits as it will certainly be required for the renewal of the visa. Best

I have lived in Thailand 20 years non o is the way to go and 800,000 baht in bank keep all year round in thai bank.

Non O (retirement) can be applied from Thailand as long as the applicant has already a Thai bank account and the 800K Bahts has been sitting in the Thai bank account for 3 months counting from the application is submitted to Immigration in Thailand.

Could you share info on the Non O childcare visa please?

I currently hold a valid DTV visa for Thailand. I would like to ask whether it is possible to apply for and obtain a Non-Immigrant visa ( for United Nations 🇺🇳 internship program in Thailand ) while my DTV is still valid, without cancelling the DTV. Is it possible to have the two visas the Royal Thai embassy will cancel one of the two ??

Specifically, is it legally permitted to hold both visas at the same time, and to enter Thailand using the Non-Immigrant visa without any issues at immigration?

I would appreciate guidance from anyone with experience or official clarification on this matter.

Thailand wants your money only but not to live there. They are purposely making it hard so you can’t live there long or permanent.

I just renewed my non-O visa with the agency putting up the funding! It’s a bit expensive, but I’m not about to put $25k in a Thai bank!

Someone posted elsewhere that they obtained a Non-O in Phnom Penh, rather than in their home country. This would save much hassle if already in the region. If no dependents, Non-O is the way to go if no police checks or health insurance.

Do they require health insurance that covers pre-existing conditions ? If not, then the usefulness of the insurance is much reduced. If so, then it's probably unaffordable for many.

Hi Mark, thanks for the video. Question for you. I am currently on a 5 year Elite Visa -3 years left. I don't see the benefit of renewing this so looking at options. I am 57 so can apply for a retirement visa. Would applying for a visa be easier since I am already on an Elite or more complicated. I also have type 2 diabetes, which I see is a medical option for the DTV Visa. Would that be the easiest option? I know of have a few years but don't want to leave things to the last minute. Thanks

There are hundreds of people on YouTube every day talking about thailand visas.
Get one thing straight the whole visa imergration system is now not fit for purpose. For a start they change it every 5 mins.
It's very simple just come for a holiday and be hassle free for 60 days why you still can😅

O-A visa; Why does the Gov. decide, and Immigration implement, what health insurance companies are valid?
Hospitals decide.
I think that’s why some immigration offices do not require proof of health insurance for your O-A extension.
This may be the reason why tourists do not need to buy Thai health insurance, as so often proposed every few years.
Many already have health insurance coverage, valid Internationally, with in-network direct billing.

-Just to clarify, a visa does not allow you to open a bank account, the bank does, and every branch has different rules.

The financial requirements to extend an O and OA for 1 year are identical. 800,000฿ in a Thai bank for 2 months before you apply for the extension. Have 800,000฿ in your account 3 months after your extension and no less then 400,000฿ for the rest of the year. Immigration will want to see a 1 year bank statement to show that you met the terms of your extension all year before extending for another year.

After your first one year extension based on the 800,000฿ bank deposit you can switch to the monthly income method. To do this you must show monthly deposits of a minimum of 65,000฿ each month for the 12 months before you apply for your 1 year extension. Those deposits must be shown to originate outside Thailand. As a practical matter this means meeting the 800,000฿ deposit requirement while simultaneously making twelve 65,000฿/month deposits. This requirement is identical for the O and OA visa.
