I could see MT and MS going blue one day. You’d have to put in a ton of infrastructure work in rural areas to win MT and do a ton to increase black turnout in MS. And if they could do that in MS they probably could in LA.

The reason a Reagan-style victory is no longer possible is because only 50% of voters voted in that election, which means that it's highly likely that the vast majority of Democrats didn't vote. However you would never have that situation now, just the hint that Republicans would win in 2028 would be enough for the majority of Democrats to vote, and vice versa.

I don't think such an election result would be permitted by the Republicans. They would just stay in power and say no when the Democrats attempt legal proceedings.

If the democrats can be the "normal democratic party" without being to far left or too "woke" (i reckon many more rightwing/centrist people dont like the so called "wokeness), they could easily win it by a landslide. In my opinion Trump is doing many things which are not nearly what he promised, so i guess some people might not vote that again. I am from Europe so i hate all your parties so dont argue with me.
