There are a lot of cool things to do in Berlin, but which are actually worth your time? That's exactly what I'm covering in this video – the experiences that will give you the REAL Berlin, not just the tourist traps 🤝

Bonus: one of the most impactful things I’ve ever done in Berlin was to visit the former Stasi Prison in Hohenschönhausen. It’s a wild experience and the guides are (almost all) former inmates, so it’s a very “in your face” way to hear about the horrors that were going on in East Germany only a couple of years ago. Here's my written guide on things to do in Berlin where I share more about this place + 28 other cool things to do in the German Capital: https://destinationwellknown.com/things-to-do-berlin/
Berlin is unlike any other European capital. It's not traditionally "pretty" like Paris or Rome – instead, it's raw, fascinating, and unique.
I used to live in Berlin and worked as a tour guide here, so I know this city inside and out. In this video, I'm sharing the best things to do in Berlin – from the famous landmarks everyone needs to see to the quirky local spots that most tourists completely miss 😎
Could we see Hitler’s statue?
Berlin's history is everywhere you look. You'll walk past remnants of the Berlin Wall, stand where East met West during the Cold War, and see how the city confronts its difficult past head-on. But it's not all heavy history – Berlin also has incredible food, amazing parks, vibrant neighbourhoods, and that famous alternative culture that makes it feel so different from the rest of Germany.
Berlin is massive, and each area has its own personality. You need to explore beyond just one neighbourhood to really understand what makes this city special. From Prenzlauer Berg to Kreuzberg to Friedrichshain – every corner tells a different story.
Visit the Ramones Museum!
🩷🖤
So if you're planning a trip to Berlin and want to experience the REAL city – not just the tourist traps – this is your guide. These are the things to do in Berlin that will give you an authentic taste of what makes this place so incredible.

Topography of Terror is fascinating and horrifying in equal measure. I went on two consecutive days because there was so much to read and see.
So many amazing museums and galleries, far more than you could do justice to in one holiday. I'm already planning my next trip to Berlin.

This might be a weird question, but I know you need to pay for Berlin public toilets. Is that the same in attractions? Like at museums etc? You still need to pay?

Actually, it is Döner Kebap :D Döner Kebap outsells Currywurst by A LOT.
Appreciate you pointing out some of these are tourist traps. 2026 Berlin is not 1996 Berlin. If you weren't here in the 90s or early 00s, you f*cked up.
Berlin, du bist so schön hässlich (Berlin, you are pretty ugly).

The front image reminded me of someone. 😂 How about you?
@stanleylu6944All the recommended sights that can be found in every travel guide. No information about what really makes Berlin interesting.
@chrisoak4916Why do I hear a mix of Scouse and German?
@AlvinOfficial-UKAť se v minulosti stalo co se stalo.
Berlín 👍 nádherné hlavní náměstí 👍👍👍👍👍 a architektury? 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Nádherně udržované.
Škoda přistěhovalců kteří si myslí že jim to tam patří a neumí se chovat.
Domu s nimi
i will go to visit berlin for 3 days this year , i am very excited to see your suggetions
@luizrodrigues6554Thank you for this video
@Flugzeuge4KThis myth about Jesse Owens and Hitler is something the Left bang on about.
In fact Hitler was told by the Olympic President not to shake hands with athletes after Day 2 as it was against protocol.
Owens said that he was better treated by Nazi Germany than the US.
Roosevelt refused to host him in the White House as the Democrats objected to a black man being thus feted.
Do some research before peddling tired unfounded falsities..
Apart from that OK stuff....
27 euro for that? the budget for a week of food
@plindenI've been to Berlin so many times but I love this city and can't wait to get back. This was a great review, reminding me of some spots and pointing out new ones. Thank you.
@Jericho50When it comes to foreign food: RIce and Shine in the Torstrasse 125, close to the Rosenthalerplatz. Must eat Asian (Mainly Korean) fusion. And wnen Koreans come to eat there, it must be good. Another nice food option is this foodhall in Kreuzberg: Markthallen Neun, Berlin Kreuzberg, which is pretty affordable.
Personally, this tourist public transport card, I would not recommend it. It cost a lot more than a daily card through the BVG app, but that's just me.
I am a true Berliner and I have to say that the most locations are highly overrated. The food and bar scene is good but not very good and no way close to top. You have a couple of very good ones but the most are trash. The service culture is also a big issue here. In Milano, Copenhagen, Athens, Istanbul I was flashed! So much better food and service! I love Berlin as my Hometown but so many stuff is just overrated and trash.
Another point is that all the vlogs just show the same things. When you want to see the real Berlin, where the real Berliner live, you have to go to Schöneberg, Charlottenburg, Reinickendorf, Pankow, Wedding, Köpenick and Wilmersdorf. These are the original districts. In all the other fancy districts are not Berliners anymore.
YBew subscriber here, you are spot on. Thank you for sharing!:)
@MagnificentGermanywithDarion3:38 was that a fox?
@Throughblock6946I’ve travelled all over Europe yet there is something about Berlin that makes it my favourite. Can’t wait to go back❤️
@rossco8222Great list! I would add: take a ride on the U Bahn lines that run on a viaduct, like U1, 2 and 3. Check out Gleisdreieck Park. Take a walk along the Panke (a small canal) or the Landwehrkanal. Take a tour with Berliner Unterwelten. Get some baklava from one of the high-end Arabic pastry shops.
@antonnurwald5700Very nice commentary! Berlin definitely has a very unique vibe..one of my fav European cities. Appreciate your input!
@xlatheblackdragon705I also absolutely love House of small wonders!! +1000 points for mentioning it!! 🥰
@elkycrodiaPrater is great and very accessible, but my favorite Biergarten in the city is Zenner, in Treptower Park. Situated right on the Spree River so you get a view and usually a nice breeze. You have to walk a bit to get to it from the S-bahn station -- about 1.5km, or just under a mile -- but the park is nice and walking along the waterfront is something you should do anyway! For an added bonus, visit Insel der Jugend, right next door. The Soviet War Memorial, also in the park, is worth a visit as well.
@delius19671:03 Berlin is the most vegan city in germany.
