The BEST And WORST Parts Of Every Grand Theft Auto Game

Video Overview & Insights

Ladies and gentlemen, Grand Theft auto. One of the most popular and influential game franchises of all time… has had it's ups and downs. Much like most things, you have to take the good with the bad too enjoy the things you like. But in the issue of looking at both ends of the spectrum what are the best and worst parts of every GTA game? Well that's what I'm here to take a look at.

“Makes me wanna walk down main st. with sunglasses, a three piece suit, and a grimace, you know what I’m saying?” Yea walking down the street with tht purple McDonalds guy sounds like a blast to me lol

GTA SA is my favorite. CJ's customization is top tier. I love how you can wear any combination of clothing (I was pissed at GTA V for not allowing you to wear flip flops with suit pants or something). But I think the best thing is how accessible the map is. Every tall building can easily be reached with a helicopter, jetpack, or a BMX with the bunny hop glitch (my favorite).Every inch of the map is walkable. There are no out of bounds areas besides literally falling through the ground.

there is stuff to do in GTA 4 you can hangout with your buddies and go play pool, darts, bowling there is a lot to do in the hangouts and they brought back the girlfriend mechanic from GTA San Andreas and the people you hangout actually feel like people you would want to have a beer with.

the lung capacity requirement in SA is pretty egregious but in its defense, your lung capacity only needs to be 5% to start the mission. so most people (including me) probably spent longer than they needed to raising it just for amphibious assault

Vice city: you can’t swim, and map size.

Oh another one hating on GTA 5 because it is suddenly cool to hate on it xD

Worst part of GTA 5 personally is little to do after the story is done (unless you wanna grind for 100%).

@RightfulArchon32

I appreciate you including the first two GTAs, most other channels will say stuff along the lines of "I'll be doing so and so with every GTA!" And they start with GTA III lol

@nastymartinez6345

>has a whole video about how bad GTAV's story is with a name like that, his best part of San Andreas is the cheat codes, and downplaying much of the other games stories

Yeah, not gonna touch that with a 9 foot pole

y would u play china town wars on ds? XD

While the story of GTA5 was too branched out, you've got to give them credit for managing to squish like 5 heists inside the story, while also making the story work. GTA IV went all in on a great story, but there was no room for any heists, except a single bank score, which barely had any importance to the story.

The worst part about gta vice city is that I'm not Tommy's love interest

I like gta 3 more than vice city. VC has an amazing 80s vibe and i like the game but gta 3 has something about it i love. I dont remember the cars being so brittle besides the infernus is VC, loved the countach and i remember it was weaker or it seemed that way. San andreas was my fav game over all for about 20 years.

I was never able to finish GTA5 its just so boring.
The mechanics and the world and graphics are great, but it is an abysmally paced story.

If you want to upgrade lung cap I found collecting the oysters around Los Santos helps a lot and gives you some extra cash

It took me nearly 10 years to complete GTA4. Beautiful game but I just got so bored every few missions. 😴

@CinematikNupe
@

The worst thing in vice city is that you can't swim, and for san andreas the best is definitely its robust content that no other gta has replicated since then

@Bradframe92
@

GTA SA issue is not lung capacity
Its that
No matter how good you are
No matter how many times you replayed

Youre still put in not 1 but 2 missions that take all your guns away.

The fact this happens at all and is scripted is BS

The fact it happens twice is insane

@veloc.raptor9136

Those are pretty weak picks tbh. Cheat codes the best about gra sa? Seriously?

"Sure it's cheap, but so is this mission, so we're even"

Every GTA post San Andreas for me have been a let down. Sad but true. Rockstar focuses now days way too much on characters and stories and forgot how to make their games fun. GTA4 was one step forward and two steps back and GTA5 was even worse personally.

GTA4 I loved the immersive realism but there was nothing to really do post story missions.

GTA5 tried but failed horrifically at bringing back stuff from SA people like by way of redundant implementation, bad progression, while also removing the realism that made 4 awesome so 5 had nothing in my opinion nothing that made it better than past gsmes. Literally just gives the player a T-Shirt for 100%ing the game, a huge slap as even GTA4 gives you like infinite ammo. 😂

Basically I have zero hype for GTA6. I'm have no expectations that it will be fun at all. 5 was just that mediocre of an experience, and the worst GTA game since 3 in my opinion.

@KameradVonTurnip

if you considered GTA Online with 5, the worst part of 5 is the entirety of online

I hated sweet. His brother was doing his best to be something, to improve his life and his familys life, and all sweet did was cry about some run down cul de sac with 5 houses on it.

i feel like a good comparison with GTA 3 and open world games is like wolfenstien/DOOM and FPS games

u had GTA 3 as the worthwhile open world sandbox if a bit boiled down to its basics in comparison to later games in the genre(much like wolfenstien 3D, its pure, if minimal)

then u had vice city that actually made things fun(like DOOM, a step up to be certain, but not without noticeable issues)

and then theres san andreas, the one that actually set the standard proper(like DOOM II, almost perfect in every way, considering the technology at the time(except 3 or 4 glaring sections that almost ruin every playthrough when u reach them))

The worst thing about San Andreas is how bad it’s aged. The graphics are fuzzy and hazy, combat is bad I can’t even play the original anymore I have to play the definitive version.

8:23 as far as radio goes, I really enjoyed the talk shows up until GTA IV. Somehow they just fell off after that.

25:32 But why would you need to make money when you can only spend it on clothes and guns?

@4DAKINGBEETLE

You mentioned the GTA 1 soundtrack, but you forgot to mention the song Dazed & Confused from GTA 2. Search that & listen. "I spend all my time, just drivin' 'round, smoking joints & drinkin' beer, I don't care, 'cause I don't know no fear. Getting laid, but I ain't getting paid. Dazed and Confused, alright" Damn good song.

@マーシャル1980

I think the GTA:SA lung capacity thing came about because they really wanted to showcase the fact that you could finally swim in this game, but they didn't have any creative ideas on how to actually do that

@heyIlikebirds
@

Best thing about GTA 1 is the scope. Three cities, four if you include the London expansion. Each location had it's own boss(es) and separate story (bare as it was). We wouldn't get that again until San Andreas crammed 3 large cities into one game and we haven't gotten it since!

Worst thing is the general difficulty. No ability to save, you have to complete an entire chapter.

GTA 1 can be enjoyed, but you need to use save states, or be an absolute beast of a gamer. You can emulate the PS1 version and use save states, or get GTA Max for PC which bundles all of the GTA content and includes a version of DOS Box that allows you to save your state with F5!

For GTA 2 it's the unique setting. The only GTA game in a fictional dystopian retro future! For the negative, it's the story. It's weaker than GTA 1's narrative and that was barely a thing. The ending is literally 'try again' or 'congratulations' based on whether you did all missions and found all hidden packages or not.

I. F*cking. ADORE Vice City Stories! Fully agree with the Business Empire being the best part. One of the few grindsessions in video games I'm NOT annoyed by. The whole aesthetic also feels like an 80s movie with Fresh 105 blasting in the background.

Would you consider doing a separate video on this game? I guess the problem would be on what to talk about, since it's mostly a straight arrow imo. Still, it had something unique about its setting...

@ramonmff5158

I think they had to remove swimming from LCS AND VCS as to make a callback to how in liberty city the water is tainted badly while in VCS is shark infested waters

They really did the lore on that

@JoseJimenez-vc7we
@

I think San Andreas is overrated, much preferred vice city

@Darkens101

GTAIV is the best in the series

I as well hate the grading system of missions. So useless and it rarely makes me want to try it again, especially for missions that I didn't like.

@cometark42
@

The original gta 1&2 didn’t only not age well. But they weren’t even that good at the time they came out.

@412StepUp

I think one of the worst parts of GTA V is the need for an internet connection to play single player. That insta-ruined my experience.
I paid for the game, aiming to binge it after moving into a new place...only to realize that my six-days-away internet installation was absolutely critical to even be able to play.
Nothing in my 30-year gaming experience ever filled me rage that fast.

@ThisHandleFeatureIsStupid

Zero was the worst part of San Andreas

SO THATS WHY I COULDNT BEAT THE GAME !?!? I had NO idea why I couldn’t beat the Mad Dogg mission!! Thought I was just stupid or not doing it right. Never knew it glitched because I used cheats earlier on (I was like 10 or 11 to be fair) literally waited till I was in my 20s to finally beat it 😂😂
