I use the original RCV and it is great but this model, and the RCV S, both have one problem for solo operators : no sliders. The audio system in these units is fantastic but, if you are a solo performer live-streaming over video, you need the sliders to work the audio without looking.

9:05 there is a new Rodecaster Video Core coming in March - that if you already have a Rodecaster Pro or Duo this. Cheaper and more streamlined version of the Rodecaster Video s will be your best option and it will clean up your desk space because you can hide the box and just use the screen and button/knobs on your other Rodecaster deck to control all the video inputs. This will be the god level for sure!

Preparing the recording space to minimize audio reflections and noise is more important than any recording or processing gear. Without a prepared recording space, no mics or audio processors can make listenable sound.
Lighting is more important than any camera. With poor lighting, no camera or video processing gear can make watchable video.
Hey, great video! Quick question for faceless You Tube voiceovers: how does Lewitt LCT 240 Pro + M-Audio M-Track Solo compare to HyperX QuadCast 2S or latest Elgato Wave:3 for vocal clarity and noise rejection? Which setup would you recommend? Thanks!
@k-1-metalAiden, you were one of the reasons I purchased a PodMic USB. That being said, I do find that that mic will have glitches in the recordings every once in a while. Like maybe half a second of my audio won’t quite be captured properly with the mic. Any solutions for this?

@TheOutsiderJessI am pretty much on board with everything presented here. I've been podcasting for about 3'ish years and I use the Sm7b with the Vocaster Two and because I am ultra paranoid about noise I use an inline pre-amp to keep the gain down. I've gone through hundreds of dollars of other mics and interfaces in the past and have found that it's really easy to hit a point of diminishing returns in terms of audio quality. However, I am a bit of an audiophile and I honestly find this stuff fascinating whether it's audio engineering to audio editing... so I'm okay dumping money into this hobby as a result. You don't need to spend a ton of money to get going and you really don't need to spend too much more to keep it going.
Instead FOCUS ON THE CONTENT! No degree of buttery smooth vocals is going to fix stupid content. Having a couple of dudes sit around some mics and talk about nonsense won't work. Find your niche and stick to it! You stand a better chance finding an audience interested in different yarn colors than you would than just talking about whatever comes to mind with a bunch of bros.
Lastly, I know the emphasis is on video podcasts in this video. That is definitely the trend today. However, don't think that is the end all / be all of being successful. Remember, a video podcast takes at least 10x the amount of time to edit per minute than an audio only. Many of the top performing podcasts out there are audio only. Don't forget, many people listen to podcasts while driving to and from work, exercising, or simply doing chores around the house. None of those activities are conducive to video. However, if your intention is to go to video, then I 100% agree that it's best to gear things up early to account for video for when you do make the change... just be prepared for the time commitment and learning curve (assuming you don't have much experience editing video).
All in all, I freaking love this channel and every video I watch makes me think that I could have saved a lot of time and money in the past if I had only seen it earlier. Keep up the great work Sir!
A very simple and minimalist solution for multi-person podcast is the Rode Connect software. Mice wise you can mix and match, eg one Podmic USB, the Wireless Micro (=two people), a Video Mic Go II (which is great as a Podcast mic) or actually any Wireless Go. You could also use the AI-Micro adapter with two lav mics (or any other mic with a 3,5 mm mic jack).
