Noodles should be cheap, they're even cheaper when you make them at home.

Almost half of this video recipe is Josh eating the recipe and a waste of time after that. A waste on this one.

Hoisen sauce?

Try oyster sauce!

β€” @Americansikkunt

Ingredients Needed:

Sauce:

Just made this, it was absolutely stunning. My husband loved it so much, but I personally thought it was better without any meat! The napa cabbage was the hero of the dish, and the sauce was just so good that it didn't need anything else to make it shine.

β€” @Nyssa56

- 1.5 tablespoons (22g) rice vinegar

- 2.5 tablespoons (38g) soy sauce

The Beeeeestttt!

β€” @theultra1167

- 2 tablespoons (40g) hoisin sauce or oyster sauce

- 1 teaspoon (5g) toasted sesame oil

I miss 2022 prices πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ˜

β€” @theultra1167

- 2 teaspoons (5g)Β  corn starch

Noodles:

2026 we took out a loan and then tried this one.

β€” @djmrtwist

- 12 oz (340g) boneless skinless chicken thighs

- 3 tablespoons (42g) vegetable oil

the cheapest dish i've know is cong you ban mian or scalion oil noodle, its literally just spring onion, soy sauce, and sugar. thats it.

β€” @redstone682

- 2 green onions, cut into segments

- 1 carrot julienne

This took 3 hour for me and my daughter to make and our stove caught fireπŸ˜…πŸ˜‚ but it was a really nice experience to have and it was delicious and made way to much noodles and our fire alarm went off 10+ times

β€” @migdclm

- 2 ribs celery

- 3.5 cups (315g) thinly sliced napa cabbage

the "not a huge fan of bean sprouts but it makes sense here" deserved a subscription. that's how i know joshua is a real foodie.

β€” @briskandpepsi

- 7 cloves garlic, finely chopped

- 1 cup (85g) bean sprouts

Watching Josh cook is more entertainment then what it is on tube now :-) I love his cooking and I made this dish today.

β€” @RG769

- 14 ozΒ  (400g)chow mein/stir fry noodles

- 2 tablespoons (30g) water

rate this 5/10

β€” @PapsTIBI

If you wanna make this recipe even easier, you can buy a bag of coleslaw to get your veg pre-shredded

Dense veg first. Always sugar your cabbage. You're off to the races.

@ontariobushcraft536
@

I’m surprised at how many of you missed its priced person and when he priced it out he priced it as such to how much of the item he used for it so for instance if a head of celery costed him $2 and it had 10 stalks on it that would mean each stalk is .20 if he said use 2 stalks that is how he got .40. That’s just an example it was not hard to follow it. But for those who spent $20 or $90 for a single serving sorry but that is big back portions you are eating!

What about MSG

@sajanthakuri8611
@

You can add a pinch of msg or if you're like me I have Maggi in my fridge all the time which is basically just liquid msg(use carefully or your food will be salty af)

@mattygames1369

It's not always about not being able to afford a wok. It might be that one does not have the space to keep yet another pan.

@JujuBeans-of5yp
@

I know something better and cheaper (though you can get veg chowmein for 1.5 dollers in India at southindian restaurants)
And the noodles are maggi β‚Ή15 each and you can just do anything and i mean anything to them
Eat the straight (so good)
Add cheese (better)
Add butter (better)
Add vegetables(if you wantπŸ˜…)
Add anything and they taste amazing

Stopping at blowing money on new wok. πŸ›‘ STOP. You can very often find used at thrift stores and flea markets for 5$ even in 2025. Used is GOOD because CHEAP means guilt FREE experiments! I bought 3-4 before found one that I really liked. Almost all woks are some kind of steel without coating like Teflon because it heats fast. So again used works fine because there's no coating to have worn off or damaged.
Now you DO want to build up "seasoning" on wok like with cast iron, but that comes with use woks don't come preseasoned do far as I've ever seen.

@nathangrueber9834
@

NOODLES 4.99$.
right from the beginning you fucked up as roger would say

@nathangrueber9834
@

so you're getting all the vegibles, meat, and eveyrhing else for free? The noodles alone cost that much, how are you getting the price of that down to $1.86?

@aegisofhonor
@

Been a huge fan of him for years but his techniques on quasi asian food arent great. Flavors and textures are awesome tho. Still a huge fan but there are small details like not pouring sauce straight on the noodles and pulling the veg because home burners dont have the heat are just missing.
