I am loving all these episodes rewatching them again after years and years...it still breaks my heart hes gone. Im sure i have commented already somewhere in an episode but watching these episodes when they first aired made me open my eyes to cultures and amazing food and that i have always maintained the fact for me that the best way to explore a city or country is thru its food.

Awww, made me cry seeing Anthony quite vulnerable and emotional for the "elder brother, sort of father" to him, as he thanked him at the table...I must have watched this episode more than 5x, and I certainly will 50x more, for sure.

Every single food region: ' they insist on top quality fresh local ingredients' Oh wow, what a revelation! You visit a food region, bring a camera, praise everything they do, and people ill give you free food and like you. what a poser.

Highest Michelin star per capita is actually Baiersbronn and not San Sebastian, sry to say Anthony.

We spent 3 days and nights in San Sebastian. Ate only Pinchos in the bars. I doubt I will ever eat so well and have so much enjoyment doing so anywhere else.

As a Croat, of course I remember his episode from Croatia with joy and sadness. Strange, two opposite feelings at the same time. We all miss you, Anthony infinitely... This episode from the Basque Country is wonderful!

Spain is where all the beauty is.

I am not sure why they think they are so unique. The language sounds a lot like Greek with a lot of “th” sounds and a mixture of Spanish and Italian. As for their physical appearance like any other Southern European. ❤ food looks amazing and they look like a very nice proud peoples.

As much as I loved Anthony bourdain, it STILL hurts after all these years to see and hear him on tv or even here, I immediately start crying, I can’t help it… 😢… he was my favourite tv host because he brought so much honesty and clarity to the topics he covered, and it wasn’t always about the food, but the people and their cultures, history, it was an eye opening experience for me who couldn’t travel to those places that he went to, but it brought me greater understanding of them, through his tv shows… I loved his friendships with people and other chefs, United by their love of food and fresh ingredients… 😌 He was gone too soon from this world, and he was a beautiful human being despite all the cussing, 😅 he always spoke his truth. 🙏❤

A great way to spend half an hour of my life. Learning about this country and city.

I love The Basque country. the food is so good. As a Norwegian i will say Spanish seafood is superior to ours bu a mile. And Bilbao has the most respectable football team in the world!
