The Day The WWE Network Died

Video Overview & Insights

The WWE Network gave fans everything for $9.99 but it didn’t last. This retrospective explores the rise and fall of WWE’s streaming service, the reasons it failed, and the shift to Peacock and Netflix.

Big mistake hope it will come back

0:00 - 2:11 - The Rise of The WWE Network

It was a huge gamble and Vince lost. They found out there aren't enough wrestling fans to support the network and replace ppv revenue. Even though ppv revenue was falling every year since 2009 it was still way better than the network.

— @givem110

2:12 - 3:27 - For only $9.99!

3:28 - 4:45 - The Content Library Was STACKED. (Documentaries, Tough Enough, Swerved, Edge and Christian Show, Camp WWE, Ride Along, Total Divas, every Wrestlemania and more.)

Just imagine
All the lost media damn

4:46 - 7:12 - Reality TV Is PEAK.

7:13 - 9:24 - NXPeak.

PLEASE MOVR EVRTYTHING OVER! Also every Episode of RAW and SmackDown in the past.. 1993 and PPV until today please 😢

10:21 - 11:17 - Why It Fell Apart.

Since they own their vault. Idk why they didn’t just keep the network n license the vault to peacock. For those who still wanna pay, it’s there for them. Forever. They have a deep vault. And it’s sad I can’t watch any obscure things.

— @freezhollywood

11:18 - 13:38 - The Netflix/Peacock Era

13:39 - 15:54 - The Legacy of the WWE Network.

It sucks that they still haven’t added all of the Raw episodes as well as any WCW & ECW content to Netflix

#WWE #wwenetwork #wweraw

I didn't even know it existed. I was watching WWE on Hulu in 2015 or 2016. Last time I watched.

I knew it at the time but it did NOT have everything. Most wcw before nitro wasn't there.

Well like the Attitude Era, the WWE Network was too good to last.

@brandonberg4339

Looking back @ it now, the WWE Network could've been $30 & I'd still keep it.

You can still watch the network with a VPN, I’m watching it now, quit with these stupid videos

@Podgorski37
@

Friends, I still have WWE Network as of December 21, 2025. I pay for Nord VPN and WWE Network. I connect to Germany from Mexico. And that's it. Japan will still have WWE Network. Germany, Austria, and South Africa will still have WWE Network.

The original WWE Network was as good as we would ever have it. PPVs, classic content, fun original content, easy to use navigation. It's too bad Vince got talked into selling it out to The Cock.

@flaco171ac
@

Say whatever you want about Vince how he ran his company and how he treated his employees. But he was probably the most customer oriented CEO ever. Affordable ticket prices making sure families could attend to getting rid of PPV model in favor of WWE Network. He always catered to being affordable.

@homelander3889

Thanks to the WWE Network, I was able to binge watch SmackDown, Raw and the PPVs from 2002-2003 those were the times I was just getting outta diapers so it was good to actually watch and get into the great matches from the early Ruthless Aggression Era

@foosdontcry

I stopped watching after he said it wasn't just a streaming platform. It was just a streaming platform.

@desertcoliseum

It seems like yesterday, that this service was a must have to escape boredom. Fire TV, Roku, PlayStation you name it. WWE network was good to have until 2019, and it just crashed. Thank God I have most wrestling on Hard Drive, DVD and VHS.

@Kyledel00
@

i got the network towards the end but fuck man it was incredible

@lukasvitullo3751
@

It’s funny because while the current product (at the time) was bad the Network was a good deal tbh

@warshallwathers7971
@

WWEs biggest missed opportunity was centralizing all their programming on their own network.

@asdfgh-v9e
@

And now to see it all you need Netflix, peacock, and ESPN+...about $60 a month.

@2BigFooted
@

Now we can’t watch raw on peacock bcuz of the rock

@joshuabrooks9292
@

The way he says WWE "Dubyudubyuwee" 😂

@ChicagoSunroofSpecial
@

Love him or hate him, Vince had foresight. Getting all big names in one fed, taking over national tv witb cable, PPV, E Network, Peacock deal... so much stuff he was calle nuts for that became an industry standard. At the time of the Network it was only them and Netflix that were streaming

@SalsBrain
@

I miss the wwe network i got it before survivor series 2016 till network move to peacock in 2021

@itsrobert2742

Triple H era is beyond horrendous.

@theuriah01

In India, Netflix playing with WWE fans because the old content of raw and episodes of SmackDown are not uploaded. WCW is not uploaded. ECW is not uploaded. We can see Netflix killêd WWE in India.

@MEDIA_UR_VOICE

In year 2014 , how was this Ground Breaking ,
Streaming already existed,
Netflix was already here ,,,
Smartphone , Laptop and everything else already existed

@a-khanation5279
@

at this point i m starting to think that that price campaign was just an excuse to say something similar to 'nein nein nein' on national tv as many times as possible cause they're all a bunch of f'in n's (this n word is the bad one, just to be clear)

@calejdo
@

I wish there were an easy way to pirate it or watch it on my pirated streaming networks but it’s so hard

@braidonwillard6202
@

WWE Network was brilliant

@kingkong4ever
@

Netflix should have stayed focus on movies and TV shows. They are killing WWE with TKO. And stop with expanding in the game "Netflix edition", not worth it. Makes me feel like they are begging.

@SRayanHGaming

It’s been almost a year and All raw and smackdown episodes from 2007-2019 still missing 😢

@aesthetic_q9089
@

I remember it released here in UK the following February. I remember installing it on my brand new PS4 at the time and the 2015 Royal Rumble was the first live PPV I watched from it. It sure was a blast from the past.

The original network on the WWE website was 🔥 the move to peacock was a hot mess

@jordonhanlan

The first time I discovered the WWE network I literally cried 😢

@alexisflores7066
@

Still Here in Germany 😊

@PAMA1905
@

I wouldn't mind normally but you can't watch any old episodes of Raw and Smackdown anymore. It's a shitshow and made me stop watching wrestling. And I mean that genuinely, I stopped after it got onto Netflix and only watch YouTubers now every once in a while.

@TalkativeGoofball
@

The network also failed because the product was so bad, so consistently for quite a while. People cancelled after each awful PPV or slew of weekly shows. 2019 for example was a brutal year for WWE creatively.

Так, я пам'ятаю цю мережу, і зараз думаю куди вона зникла а ось куди. Ти нагадав.
