I hit a deer a couple years ago and repaired the hoop rather than replacing and used filler in some areas. Will that hurt the filler?

tried this on my 82 mustang roof. 5 coats of remover later and paint still didn't lift like this.maybe doesn't work on enamel as good as other paint.

Thanks for the video. This was very helpful. My question is, on a restoration job..where there was surface rust involved would you add any other metal conditioning product PRIOR to the epoxy primer. Even if it looks clean?

Too bad the Consumer Product Safety Commission (idiots) removed methylene chloride from consumer grade paint remover. Still available for commercial shops. The stuff we can buy takes multiple applications of 24 hrs each. This Ultra version seems to be the old stuff, not available or legal in my state. Research the reason for removing the chemical from paint stripper, it's nuts. And the Ultra is $48 a quart? Used to be $10.

I have a late 60s, aluminium cast, Black & Decker Workmate that someone painted blue all over in what might be, a non-oil based paint. Some paint strippers have had their formulas altered so I'm researching the best way to go about this project. I can still use the work bench but bringing it back to it's original look should, hopefully, be worthwhile..

@KennethSwanson-e5kI donโt think thatโs the right mask. Those pink pads are good for particulates not fumes. I could be wrong though

Question, how much pressure are you using on the clear coat portion? You seem to have a very large amount of overspray happening.

@luckincoffee7257My boy i guarantee you any diy man on here is just gonna have a Walmart at the ready, a garage (if you're lucky), a few metal workhorses, and YouTube knowledge.
If you're gonna offer this to poor people like me as diy, lose the paint booth and the spray guns. This isn't a job calling, this is a one weekend deal after brutally backing into a mailbox and finding an immediate fix because you don't want your co-workers to see your new aerodynamics modification.
You should see Nissan's white paint. Girlfriend's Nissan Murano is going through that. Paint just shipping right off.

@David-lb4teI'm calling bullshit on this video. What was that watercolor ? I've used the same stuff 3 times on one side of my hood and it isn't even close to getting the paint off. Looks like I'll either sand it or buy a sandblaster.

@kensmith280Hey Brian,... Couldn't you paint on top of the epoxy primer? I got some through your link but I didn't see any sealer. I'm trying to use what I have and I initially bought some self etching Rust-Oleum primer. Could I use that?
I've watched this video like 10 times but I keep seeing things I missed before.
Also, why didn't you spray the rest of the primer on the hood as a partial second coat instead of throwing it away?

Speaking of extra time, I left mine on too long apparently and now it's extra hard trying to get to metal, even using a metal scraper.... Can I still reapply or am I just destined to sand for a month?
@MrPeterschmitI still have some methylene chloride strip, this Aircraft Ultra, I need to remove chrome wheel clear coat. That means NO SANDING and NO EFFECTIVE WRAPPING (I could get some some plastic or food wrap and just slop it over the spokes and poke in between them, but that will push the stripper off the corners - you see what I'm getting at.) DO YOU THINK IT WILL WORK????
