I have a question. When you're playing a pattern of C major scale and start from the note A instead (the Mode) and play the exact same notes, in the original pattern How does it become A minor? Shouldn't it be A major? I'm lost there.

I have been playin trumpet most my life and at 52 i am finally committed to learn the guitar. I have tried many many times and always given up. I fiured just learnin the majors in the circle of 5ths would be a good start. It is confusing going from a linear instrument to a planer instrument...

@allday585Decent video... but I think adding the modes stuff was a bit much. Always better to keep it simple. That extra stuff probably could have been done in a different video.

@iheartdoggYou should teach the D Major scale off the 10th fret. That way you can watch the notes that line up with the 12th fret. This we can recognize easily having just watched your video on "how to find any note on the guitar".

@denzelcovena9462Wouldn’t the very last note (10th fret high E string) be a D note so you wouldn’t play that? I thought we are supposed to stop at the C note which would be 8th fret on high E?

@carltaylor2975This scale reminded me of a original bassline that I made. I think the minor is awesome but I feel like there’s a WHOLE DIFFERENT groove to play around with in the major scales.
