The Generation That Grew Up With Algorithms Just Called Bullshit on AI

I'm not against AI but I literally don't need any in my dishwasher! It's another hype created wisely by techbros. All development nations have rushed head first into "all things need be electric or we'll all die hotter fried potato tomorrow". I recognise our planet is getting warmer, I do believe that, mainly because of mankind. BUT where are the spreadsheets built on reliable investigations and calculations showing that what we do now in "going green" is the best way of doing it, it all feels too rushed. Personally I think this race to batteries and "renevables"(Newton is probably rotating in his grave) have caused an emissions spiken that has just speed up the warming, like climb a step and it's your new normal level. We have survived and developed as humans for quite some time, why the need for this brake neck speed towards all AI, unless it's for some to get even wealthier?
The world would benefit from being a bit more Nordic...

Finally... Until now I felt more that it was a game of cat and mouse: employers want employees to set up AI in workflows in order to fire the employees later, and employees use AI to pretend to work and think they can bullshit the employer (they probably can).

So a beautiful circle of assholes and lazy cheaters, where the cheaters don't realize they're effectively preparing their own firing.

But finally the employees strike back. And as usual, hope for a better world comes from the young.

I'm the lead marketing and design director at my company. As a communications company (from the most basic point of view) we should be using our unique personalities as the face of the company. Our trade team over uses it and its awful because the customers are using it and the trade team is using it. Nothing is being built there is no trade relationship being built. It's just chat bots responding. Whats the point of the traders if I can outsource the communications to Chat(insert generic name here)bot and pay it nothing rather then paying 7 traders a lot of money to use Chatgpt.

From the marketing side. I've basically said to the team if any of our direct communication with anyone is from an AI you will not be doing direct to consumer marketing anymore as creativity is what we are. We should be unique and use that to our ability. As our competitors become more and more generic. We become more and more of a company of the people.

I've come to the full conclusion that artificial intelligence especially when it will be inside on android will be positively the human race natural enemy. To see one is to kill it to destroy it. Gen alpha are using it for cheating at school

Gen Z and Gen Alpha are really busy destroying flock cameras and sabotaging data centers all across the USA as we speak.

It is wild how fast it is replacing human resources and other office and clerical staff and middle management. Soon, teachers and libraries will be replaced.

I'm not "sabotaging" by refusing AI. I have projects to get done and I'd rather just write them correctly than frontload myself with an entire project's worth of tech debt and debug it for two weeks.

somebody i know from pre-school , just died in a car accident ... , hadn't seen her in 20+ years , but i certainly remembered her and her family .
in the news paper , there was picture of her and her 2 dogs ... MADE WITH ai ... , so it had a background with stars and an shiny outline around her and the dogs ,
the face wasn't her face and the rest of the picture looked like a cartoon ...
this was the SECOND i stopped respecting ai and seeing it for what it is , the next religion / god people are going to cling to from now on .
people are scared to face themselves , so they create deities and ai's they can mirror their thoughts on to ... and it's horrible to watch .
i have been '' people watching '' since the age of 4 , when i became conscious because of a piece of glass window falling on me , whilst playing in the garden and cutting my finger .

LLMs even if way more limited than publicly bloadcasted can do a lot of automatiln at reletitive tasks levels and some genuine good first level reasoning when context is clear.

El, executives, managers and employees are being led to have AI think for them, which sacrifices their individuality and makes it easier to manipulate them and easier to manufacture their consent to the programming and the algorithms. This does NOT bode well for the future and will naturally tend toward group-think for all who participate in it.

El, we need to stop AGI NOW, while we still can! I was programming computers in the 1970s while the computer was in its infancy. I knew then, that the possibilities for their use was absolutely unlimited in the future. As a research tool in many fields, such as medicine, there is nothing that can compare to it. Problems arise when it encroaches into social issues.



Peoples brains are malleable and consent can be easily manufactured and controlled by people, as well as by computers that are smarter than we are. We can certainly use their power in research and development, but the use of AI must be tightly controlled and regulated to avoid an absolute disaster that will surely come if it is unrestrained.



It was actually a combination of different factors that led to the situation we find ourselves in today. Everyone took their privacy for granted until it disappeared little by little over time. Increases in technology always lead to more convenience that people want and we refused to make any sacrifices in our lives to maintain our privacy. It didn't have to be like this, but it is.



Nobody who uses apps and devices (the vices), even bother to read the user agreements, consisting of pages of fine print that come with them. They just check the "I Agree" box to proceed to use the app like everyone else is doing! They think it is all free, but as you and I know, there is a huge price we pay in loss of privacy.



Without digital data and technology we would have much more privacy, but our governments and the oligarchs who control them convinced most of us, especially after 911, of the false narrative that if you aren't doing anything wrong, then you have no reason to be afraid of surveillance.



The truth is that we ALL do things that are wrong by the judgement of others. The fact that over half of all marriages end in divorce, usually because somebody did something that another considered to be wrong, and a court agreed, should be all the proof you need to dispatch that argument.



Big AI which is Big BS is going to make things much worse in the very near future. I say AI is BS because the objective of all of the AI LLMs is to know everything. If this were the case, why would all of these many AIs need their own Data Centers? They don't, but their data is considered proprietary even though it is ALL stolen from us and the owners and creators of the intellectual property of writers, artists and musicians.



If all the AI models really knew everything, they would all know the same thing and would all give the same answer to the same question, but they don't, because each one is adjusted, calibrated and tweaked to support a certain ideology or World View.



Just take Elon Musk's, GROK, as an example. When asked a question it gives its answer until it conflicts with Musk's ideology and then its programs are adjusted until it gives a satisfactory answer, always agreeing with Musk.



All the other AI LLMs are just the same and they are adjusted to view and evaluate data to fit their creators wants and ideologies. Now MAYBE we can see how absolutely SCREWED we really are moving forward in this new World! It's surprising to me how most people are lost in the fog and haze of tech and are unable to identify its problems.

Unfortunately adoption of Ai is seen as a marker of payroll reduction. This is the primary reason for high level executives pushing it downstream. There is inherent fear, not because Ai is good as a tool, but due to projecting it further as a replacement candidate, fueled by high level push from management. Ai is not a threat and there is an easy solution🤔, afterall Ai is nothing but an after thought of the 🧠.

Would it not make the most sense to understand the technology before we push it out to the general public. Nobody fully understands how AI works, that understanding would be far more valuable that the current path AI is taking us could ever be.
Money has less value than information.

Use AI as a tool, like a hammer in a carpenters hand.
But don’t let the hammer go on its own and build a house.

AI is crap.
In the future thousands of software engineers will be required to cleanup AI mess.

Personally I do not need Artificial Intelligence because have my own and it rests between my ears. I received a very good education growing up and can think for myself. It may be useful as a tool in research to manage large data, but as for helping me write essays and emails, I resent the implication that can replace human agency. It is as limited as the short-sighted and ever grasping oligarchs such as Musk, Theil, and Zukerberg.

As a millennial i have never been more proud of gen z

I was born in 2000 and I'm working with AI as an Software Developer every single day for the last 3 months. I'm not impressed to be honest. There are things like debugging, mock ups/click dummys and summaries of information but on the other areas like coding I see more problems. I need to be critical of a lot of informations from the AI and I need to baby sit the AI. I'm sometimes faster but it comes mostly down to the coding gets faster but I need to use more time to understand and check the code because I don't trust AI enough to comply to our coding style and software quality we want.

The most critical thing I see is my company hopes we can get faster with AI without realizing they make the same mistake as the american companies 5 years ago. That is also without touching the higher fix costs per developer and the dependency we currently have.

AI can do a lot but it can't break out of patterns. I see it more as a fancy, non linear pattern matching and forecast prediction machine.

I am making a pipeline to automate this CEOS 😊
