The Great American Exit: From Living in Cars to Leaving the U.S.

Video Overview & Insights

The cost-of-living crisis in America is driving millions of people to live in their cars - or leave the country altogether. Rent prices have doubled in recent years, wages haven't kept up, and most of the people living in their cars actually have full-time jobs. This video highlights the alarming rise in homelessness in America, particularly the increase in individuals living in a car, due to the unsustainable cost of living. I break down why this is happening, what people are actually doing about it, and what options exist at every level — including what it really costs to live abroad compared to staying in the U.S. If you're seriously considering a move abroad, tell me about your situation and book a consultation here: https://www.travelingwithkristin.com/relocation?video=kDZVXoT2yNk

Curious where everyone stands on this… Do you feel like the cost of living in the U.S. is unmanageable now, or are things still working for you? And if you did make a change, would you stay in the U.S. or consider living abroad? For help with an international move: https://www.travelingwithkristin.com/relocation?video=kDZVXoT2yNk

MASTER GINGER AGE 36 NORWAY

YES, THEY ARE BROKEN HOMES AND ITS A COMPLETE GHETTO

THE REASON WHY THE GOVERNMENT DOESNT CARE ABOUT THESE PEOPLE, IS FOR A REASON

THE GOVERNMENT DOESNT REALLY CARE MUCH ABOUT DRUG ADDICTS, ALCOHOLICS, AND HOMELESS

THE GOVERNMENT CAN CHANGE THEIR LIVES FOREVER, BUT ITS EXPENSIVE AND ALOT OF PAPER WORK

THATS WHY THE GOVERNMEN GAVE UP, AND THEY ARE LAZY IN MOST STATES IN THE USA

YOU SEE, THE REASON EACH STATE IN USA IS SO SLOW WHEN IT COMES TO HOMELESS

IS BECAUSE EACH STATE, HAS TO PAY ALOT OF MONEY, TO GET THEM A NEW LIFE

GETTING A NEW LIFE ISNT FREE, IT ISNT EASY, AND IT DEMANDS ALOT OF WILL POWER

WILL POWER FROM BOTH THE STATE, GOVERNMENT, AND THE VICTIM/HOMELESS

MANY OF THESE HOMELESS AND DRUG ADDICTS DONT WANNA CHANGE THEIR LIVES

IN FACT; MANY OF THESE PEOPLE ARE SO USED TO THIS LIFE, THEY CANT LET GO

THEY BECOME AFRAID TO CHANGE THEIR LIVES, CUS USED TO LIVE IN HELL =)

FINALY, MANY BECOME HOMELESS AND LIVE IN A GHETTO, CUS OF DRUGS

I AM NOT GONNA PLAY MIND GAMES, AND I WILL SPEAK THE TRUTH

DRUGS, IS ONBE OF THE REASON THESE PEOPLES RUINED THEIR LIVES

NOBODY MAGICALLY BECOMES HOMELESS

COMMON REASON: A DRUG ADDICT, CANT OR WONT PAY RENT ANYWHERE, AND IT GETS SEVERE

THE GOVERNMENT GETS SICK AND TIRED OF EXCUSES AND DAMAGE AND LAZYNESS

THE DRUG ADDICT LOSE CONTROL, LOSE THEIR LIFE, AND ABILITY TO FUNCTION

THE ABILITY TO FUNCTION IS SO LOW, THEY CANT LIVE IN A NORMAL HOUSE

AND THEY END UP WHERE THEY ARE NOW

SORRY TO SAY IT, DRUGS DESTROY.........

I'd live in my car if I had one. It'd be better than what I have now. A commercial developer bought the complex where I lived, and other apt. complexes here require 3 X rent for income, and I live on $1200 acres month from SS. I don't have 3X anything. I'm told that's so the apt. owners know that renters can pay their rent every month. I have references going back to when I first moved here that say I've always been a model Tennant have always paid my rent on time, but managers still want 3X rent. So I'm living in a homeless shelter for now.

"This is not 'America'" (video cover) BECAUSE AMERICA is the name of the CONTINENT. There is one AMERICA: the CONTINENT. People need to STUDY geography and history better. NEITHER Christopher Columbus NOR Amerigo Vespucci have ANYTHING to do with the country that would later be called the united states. AMERICO VESPUCCI, from whom the word originated, was in the future Brazilian territory, where, after its discovery (1500), he founded small cities and towns. The englishmen arrived in the New Continent MORE than 100 years after the Spanish and Portuguese. The word "America" is NOT EVEN an english word. The O.A.S. (ORGANIZATION OF AMERICAN STATES), the OFFICIAL ENTITY of the CONTINENT, DEFINES the 35 MEMBER-COUNTRIES of the CONTINENT as AMERICAN STATES. The demonym/gentilic "american" refers to any citizen born in America, on the American Continent. CERTAINLY, America is the Continent and not the property of a certain country.

That's California mostly, notice that. Leaving the country, OK. This is a free country.
Overseas, you will end up in the same situation. Then nobody will help you like they do here in the USA. Matter of fact if you want to reside in many countries, unless you can show earnings, you cannot live there legally. You must buy a years fully paid health Insurance. No free ride.
Try it, you'll be back in two to three year. Speaking out of experience. Yeah, you help people to relocate, good for business!!! Suckers!!

Capitalism = Captain Ahab nailing the golden coin to the mast, promising it to the one who spots the white whale. Everyone on the ship thinks he could be the one and keeps on chasing the whale until the whole ship sinks to the bottom of the ocean. 😢

As an expat for the last eight years, I've thought about settling down for a little bit due to family reasons but the math makes me cringe. It would cost me between 12-15k to get an apartment, utilities, furnishings, insurance, car, deposits, down payments, ect. That's upfront. For me to go international and housesit and just wait to see if things change? $4200. And that's on the generous side.

The numbers made the choice for me 😅🤷🏼‍♀️

Gosh, what happened to my trickle-down big money? Did Ronnie Reagan lie to me, and I believe it? Are both parties completely incompetent? Why is no one in Congress screaming at the problem? They don't seem to care. Democracy is about the rich getting richer while the poor end up on the street. Damn, meritocracy like China turns out to be the real deal. No country can succeed with lawyers in charge.

You also have young people living in cars and campers while their boomer parents and grandparents live in 4 bedroom houses. This also would never happen in most countries.

My question is: if these people are so broke, why do they have cars? Why don't they get rid of the car and use the money for food and housing?

Thanks the Rockefeller, Rothschilds who are part of the little hats community for the bad economy and housing crisis in the U.S . They’re the ones who eliminated the dollar from the gold standard, then introduced their banking system with their inflated interests, and also they started buying the majority of the houses and kept them as rentals. That plus they finance the wars. It’s all linked if you look real close

This woman is selling her business services. Moving abroad does not work for everyone. I know several people who have done it and have come back to the U.S. because at least here you understand the culture and the system. But, it does work for some people. So, how do you really know if it is for you? You have to travel to the countries that appeal to you. Spend two months in each place. Learn what the real value of real estate is or rents which you will never learn through a business for people looking to just move and they are not sure where they should go. Prices are very different for tourists who wouldn't know the difference and you are considered a tourist at the beginning even if you plan to stay forever. Spending time in a few different countries you will also learn about the different neighborhoods which turns out to be very important. You will learn about real issues such as crime which you will never learn through a business trying to sell you a product. You get the picture. If you are thinking about this do your own research by traveling on your own.

Sorry but, going by what the average rents are, 33k is the current poverty level in this country. They even have weekly trailer home rentals going for about 300 a week. Thats 1200 a month for a box. Crazy

Millions... Really? Now they leave... Really? May I ask why different millions used to breach our borders, before Trump stopped that? What is it that attract some, to the extent of becoming criminals and deters others that they feel like leaving? Leaving is fine with me, but what do they expect wherever they might be going? Do they know that everything is more expensive on all continents at a lower pay? Most likely not...

People remember all this high inflation started when dementia Joe Biden was a puppet President. also don't forget when puppet Joe sent billions of tax payers money to help illegal Aliens & help Ukraine fight the war while millions of American Citizens were financial struggling and prices of rents, housing, food, mass layoffs and many other things going up. Yes blame all this on puppet President Joe Biden who destroyed America's Economy and started this high inflation.
