Just another example of why sport and commerce are not the same thing, no matter how much the commerce people try to conflate them. "Business model" is a term that should be banned from the conversation.

The yellow jersey pays its winner just €500,000, barely 1% of what it costs to build a Tour de France-winning team. This video breaks down Tour de France economics: WorldTour cycling team budgets, rider salaries, ASO revenue, sponsorship deals, and prize money splits.

Discover why brands spend millions chasing media exposure, not cash, and how doping scandals like Lance Armstrong's nearly destroyed cycling's sponsorship model.

Kudos for including the bit about sportswashing - discussions of that should be constant for anyone caring about this sport.

Why its fragile? The sport needs to stay clean.

A team budget limit would be great, those state sponsors should be banned outright and state-owned sponsors not appear in the team name if the country is in the bottom half of a human rights ranking. I just can't cheer for Pogačar for the simple reason that I dislike the UAE for its human rights violations.
The slow end of free-to-watch is a shame, at least the TV rights for the Tour aren't as expensive yet as they are for football and F1, that won't help expand the fan base.

This music makes me feel like I’m watching The Fog of War with Robert McNamara.

Great video. However, I'd like to make a suggestion that may make videos like this easier to understand: stay with one currency unit. In this vide you used pounds, euros, and dollars, which made it difficult to compare situations and scenarios.

Thanks for the cool video.

That was a very good video! Well structured, full of interesting data and very realistic in its view of the current economic model of road cycling. I have learned quite a few new things - despite having been a fan of the sport for a long time. My only suggestion for improvement would be: List your sources! There were so many numbers in the video that some viewers might want to look them up and study them in detail after they have watched the video. Yes, that would be a nice addition. Otherwise - everything was great!

What a great video! You answered so many questions I've had about the economics of cycling for years. Kudos for showing the old Rabobank team, Sky in their all black, as well as Jonas, Tadej, and Isaac del Toro. May you get ten million subscribers.
