Too much distortion on her voice. Dave Koz fantastic as always, the rest was "meh"...

A funk cover of Tame Impala's "The Less I Know The Better" by Scary Pockets & Elise Trouw.
Elise should do another cover with the iconic bassline
MUSICIAN CREDITS
Lead vocal: Elise Trouw
was curious to know what the original sounded like, realized this should have been the original.
Saxophone: Dave Koz
Drums: Dan Bailey
Someone said they left together
I ran out the door to get her
She was holding hands with Trevor
Not the greatest feeling ever
Said, "Pull yourself together
You should try your luck with Heather"
Then I heard they slept together
Oh, the less I know the better
The less I know the better
Oh, my love, can't you see yourself by my side?
No surprise when you're on his shoulder like every night
Oh, my love, can't you see that you're on my mind?
Don't suppose you could convince your lover to change his mind?
So goodbye
She said, "It's not now or never
Wait ten years, we'll be together"
I said, "Better late than never
Just don't make me wait forever"
Don't make me wait forever
Don't make me wait forever
Oh, my love, can't you see yourself by my side?
I don't suppose you could convince your lover to change his mind?
I was doin' fine without you
'Til I saw your face, now I can't erase
Givin' in to all his bullshit
Is this what you want? is this who you are?
I was doin' fine without you
'Til I saw your eyes turn away from mine
Oh, sweet darling, where he wants you
Said, "Come on Superman, say your stupid line"
Said, "Come on Superman, say your stupid line"
Said, "Come on Superman, say your stupid line"

Great cover. Too bad the dork at the end thought it would be good to add his face/flapping and spoil the mood.

And the original bass line? That's literally the best part of the song!" :(
@JuanMa.L1velove the cover
@ardiwirya_I wish she had been included more when he was playing.
@acs197😮❤
@clint68❤
@johnamcdougall1341LoL.. everyone loves some good Sax.. but he was kinda cringe imo😂 Came in thinking he was gonna carry this, but really just wrecked her beautiful Cover and made it while diff song🤦♂️
@MartinAston00Love Scary Pockets and this is nice, but it can in no way be considered funk.
@snapperboat25And then he left without a word leaving the others asking "who was that masked man?"
@sierradelta07So different from the original but so amazing - I actually think I like this more
@karankshahThis is even better than the original, which was already amazing. So good!
@CourtzSGDSorry but this has taken the Magic ingredients of the Original and dumped them in a bin and replaced it with a standard mediocre bland supermarket lift music version of this great song
@VERCENDARKI always suspected this tune would make a great jazz vehicle. You have proven this to be the case.
If I might venture some slight criticism; the way the A section is expressed is really good, a fresh take on the original. But I really think the B section has to be texturally contrasted to the A section, with different instrumentation, as in the original. Otherwise it can sound a little turgid, as if the bass is clagging everything up.
Masterclass from start to solo 🔥
@RaphaelDavodyat first, I was concerned to see the clapping man non-clapping. but when he smiled at saxophone man, I knew he was alright - and so was I.
@Sarah-sm6izElise Trouw с любовью из России.
@olegg.8973Her voice is characterless.
@thewomble1509Lovely song. Lovely gril
@Shivam-q4j-r2fGood version, still think the bass should have a lead role
@Daniel-vb6umInsanely awesome. Trouw and Koz ftw!
@merodobsonLike you more on your own lt
@novader007She's ridiculously good.
@timbulbI loved this version so much but this song reminds me of my ex… I barely listen to this now. I hope I will heal soon and listen to this on loop.
@Lily-w1x4oIs it normal to transport a saxophone just loose like that?
@coaldoubt2879Thanks for that great performance! I use this so often like today to start my daily bass practicing routine with jamming to that great track. Soooo good! I will start a membership on Patreon now as Scary Pockets are so soulful, tasty and full of groove goodness :-) Kind regards from Germany, Maik. PS: The saxophonist....do I have to write anything more about him? No! GREAT! :-D
@continuum83This is a damn vibe
@derikfulton7174They should have modulated the second part (Oh my love section) like they did in the original.....so much more drama :)
@jillwasSorry but the arrangement just doesn't work.
@UncleHeatBandIn event of no emergency, leave the case and strut that sax through the street!
@JesseLewis314Dave Koz— the only man to make Elise Trouw disappear.
@tommasters4748Word on the street is that the keyboardist had to be institutionalized after this, he never could get over that sax solo.
@CarcPazuis this pomplamoose guy without wife? what the hell???
@oyastiibuCannot like this enough
@JDismovingElise's voice is gorgeous as always.
@crispinhands7610Starting this in a Tesla with mic'd in civic noises is sad.
@blublum7916Haha that was great. I love how the other band members grin when sax player rocks out. They're totally digging it. Great player too.
@SkonrokkenTVWell anything with Elise Trouw can't be bad. Scary talented musician and total fox. Should have had her doing the drums. Check out her earlier looping vids.
