If you did The Real World now with today's generation, they'd end up shooting each other as soon as there was a disagreement - especially over politics. My generation, the one's that started The Real World, could have BIG arguments over race and politics and not do that. But, it was a different time back then - before iPhones, social media, and the media and politicians turning everyone against each other.

@RC-1176 months is such a long time to basically put your life on hold at that age. It's too long to film and be away from your family and friends. The sweet spot would probably be 3 months.

@lrjonus5900My goodness...this season is PHENOMENAL! I'm tripping on when this Julie/Jamie thing comes into play. I didn't know they ever liked each other. I knew they flirted but I mean...I think Julie flirted with Tokyo and Matt also back then..so...whatever..thought nothing of it. Main thing is...this is absolutely the best season of homecoming. They keep getting better and better!

@JulietteKernDiamondI totally remember this show!! Now that I am 46 and have my own young adults it’s crazy looking back. I could relate so much with some of the cast members. They were all excited about life challenges, yet lacked life experience, witnessed immense joy, hurt, realness!! This cast by far is my favorite!

@caj1119I didnt appreciate how fine Jamie was at the time. He still is in an older man kind of way tbh. He has a very charming smile. He was the epitome of the Abercrombie & Fitch,Rugby,dark haired jock of the early 2000s.

New York, and LA Homecomings were great but I was like 5 and 6 when they came out. When the New Orleans season originally came out I was 13 years old in middle school and understood most of what I was watching and this is such a gift to have these people brought back again. So, THANK YOU MTV!!!!

@travishunterbrownI wholeheartedly agree with Danny's statement at the end.....since these short previews have been running I've been thinking back 22 years ago, to when the season first aired. I can't believe how much worse the world has gotten since 2001. This was the first season of RW that I ever watched, and it's held a special place to me since. I actually bought a piece of furniture from the New Orleans house when MTV auctioned some of it off as a fundraiser on Ebay. I have the little cabinet in my dining room still! :)
@dwshefferThe only Real World seasons that were good were seasons 1 & 3. The rest were cheesy.
@detoxmuscleSome of these kids would get cancelled today. The RW was always beautiful to me, because it brought different kinds of people from all backgrounds together, as a sort of social experiment. And while there were moments of ignorance and anger, many of those moments resulted in growth and learning. Today, if you make a mistake, for whatever reason, you are crucified, vilified, and cancelled.

@annachapman920At the time it was just another season of the Real World, but looking back this season was unique because there wasn't any real drama or massive blowups (Puck, Stephen slaps Irene, etc etc) the way there was in just about every other season. These people for the most part got along quite well, and that makes me appreciate this season wayyyy more than I ever used to ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
