Editor: Juan Carlos Zuniga

Uh oh. There are at least 3 smallpox samples in Rsdia, US and one just found in s fridge. You young ones have no immunity. It's not like we can trust the laws to not weaponize and release it.

Even if vaccines could have given my kids Autism .. I would rather deal with autism than kid dying from vaccines preventable disease
More User Perspectives
People back then could require migrants to be vaccinated.
Why can't we do same now? :D
All the diseases I’m reading about in the comments are caused by different things. It’s either a virus, bacteria, mycobacteria, or fungus. Please explain how vaccines works on these different vectors.
@cpntaddywell let's be honest here....."colonizaton" caused all the diseases to spread ANYWAY...so thanks to his own bringing it ...yeah i'd say they should be the ones to fix it lol ....even then... the history of medicine is thanks to the indigenous....
@Fearls1It is a shame on you to not mention the woman who brought the variolation to Europe. Lady Mary Wortley Montagu was brave enough to introduce that practice in England by showing it being performed on her own child. Without her, Jenner would never have had a chance. Again, I am greatly disappointed that the whole team omitted that part of the story. Thumbs down.
@nihillum-osW history revision
@Harry-i5d5kBrilliant format and seems very child friendly :D
@PearDestiny15:40 the queen sighed and licked the king's head, is what i saw.
@nonameno8065Literally the women 🙌🙌🙌 vaccines man, come on
@falconchildWhat do you mean we want to stop vaccinating against smallpox because it’s “dead”? It’s dead because we’re vaccinating. The only fault of vaccines is how well they work. We’ve forgotten why we have them in the first place
@Emmi138819:50 that trump refrence almost killed me 😂
@christinawilson448This is the first vaccine in history
@FunnyChrysanthemumFlower-pe7xdI love that this was animated!!! Very fun!!!
@uninvincibleeteIt’s always Africa or their exports!
@18U.S.C.242Your title is clickbait 😏 i have an un catchable disease and its not small pox
@vanillabare0007So it sounds like the milkmaids are the ones who actually figured it out. What was her name?
@owatson7648The YouTube time thing made me think it said small penius
@STICHBOYSOGRussia and USA are the only two facilities that contain the virus and they held in ultra high security underground in pneumatically sealed environments
@ChronichorrorThank you for a great video and explanation. Just BTW, a cow has only one udder. The Bovine udder has four independent compartments (quarters) each with its own teat where milkers can be would have been exposed to cow pox in the past. Today, on well managed dairies, milkers wear nitrile gloves to prevent the spread of disease from man to cow. My PhD is in Dairy Science - Milk Quality.
@doctorrowbotham3544Smallpox Variolation 😭🙏🥀
@Mr.Mercer-h6oTest it on the kid. Ha ha thats messed up

@RealzッBrilliant and informative. Thank you Dr. Mike
@kathleenalbright3908if we had smallpox now people woud still go:i aint gonna get that vaccine,its goverment propaganda
@NemusplantaI studied Jenner for history and this video was amazing! A lot of his work tends to get overshadowed by later medical geniuses like Pasteur, Koch, Pare, Fleming etc etc, but he is truly the reason so many of us are living normal and healthy lives, safe from smallpox! A cool fact is that John Hunter, his mentor in London, is credited with being the reason that anatomy was studied more, specifically in England. Not only was there a lot of public fear around surgery, but there was a stigma around it after centuries of religious control that forbade a lot of medical practice. He opened a museum and even opened a college for surgeons! That time just birthed so many brilliant minds, and it overjoyed me to see a video on Jenner and the people around him.
@quvySKIt's crazy to think that if one of the research labs that have dormant smallpox virion sample specimens were to accidentally breach its containment, there's a chance we'd never be able to fully eradicate it, like last time, since antivax seems to have become a basic requirement for reptards
@Lin_The_Cat_I have actually never recieved a vacination for anything I even dodged the covid and flu vaccinations
@howtodrawW.O.FwingsoffireSo if it only protected a person from smallpox for about 7 years, then what about those of us who had smallpox vaccine? Are we no longer immune?
@firehorsewoman1966The light bulb was such a great idea, it became the symbol of a great idea (I am watching this video at 00:00)
@random._.psycho.-kidevery day i am grateful smallpox doesn't exist anymore
@TheNewAndImprovedBJC95The way you tell these stories is 👩🍳’s 💋 - I have a playlist of videos to watch with my 8 year old son and 99% of them are Dr. Mike videos. Thanks for ALL that you do ❤
@katiefesiThe u.s. did the same thing with measles until rfk jr. reversed mandatory vaccines.
@zachsbacEdward: " you won't catch small pox with my cure just cuz." lol
@zachsbacRemember kids, next time you vote for a President, don’t vote for the anti-vaxxer!
@E_WölffieCool so Mike’s with Ferrari?
@rahoo-j9wI remember getting my smallpox vaccine in the early 1960's. Also, getting the polio vaccine which was placed on a sugar cube then ate it. I had no idea that it would save me from getting smallpox and polio ever. I'm grateful for them both. Btw, I'm 66 years old. The worst virus I ever got was COVID.
@JRR0013Thank you so much for this! You tell the story well, and I learned quite a bit! I just wish people would understand how vaccines work. Maybe someone will someday come up with a vaccine that stops the newest viral disease: ignorance.
