Had they had a case or not, it still would've been a major inconvenience. I believe the charge was 'obstruction of justice' They were even going to lock up his brother who is some type of priest in NYC. I think it was Gigante's son who was facing the most time behind bars, 20 years. So he decided to plead guilty and made a deal so the feds wouldn't go after anybody else but him
