The Truth About The "Dark Ages"

Video Overview & Insights

The Middle Ages was a 1,000 year time period that doesn't neatly fit into one box. Yet it's a popular misconception today that the entire era was a "Dark Age", where Europe regressed scientifically and wallowed in poverty. However, there's a problem - this is a complete myth! No actual historian uses the term "Dark Ages". It's a pop culture misnomer that's been used to mischaracterize the time between the Fall of Rome and the Renaissance. So what was the real story of the Middle Ages? In this documentary on Pax Tube, I shine light on the truth.

The first 14 minutes were cool, but then you started defending violent responses to crime and simping too much for the Catholic Church

How is that a minor sentence? In fact, I would argue it is too large.
Also, it is far from the worst crimes you can do.

Enlightenment writers like Voltaire undermine the medieval era because of their anti theist beliefs. This is just history written by the victors.

The Idea of the ‘Dark Ages’ Is a Myth. Here’s Why Medieval Scientific Progress Still Matters

The dark ages is a jewish and atheistic myth, because they can't conceive that the might of Christ and the love of His church maintained the rationality of the western world. Know your enemies, brothers.

Trade in Medieval Europe

Modern people: OMG the medieval period was so barbaric and primitive! Thank god we had the enlightenment.
Also Modern people after the enlightenment: Ok, nothing works. Let's have two world wars in one half of a century, that will ignite decades of terrorism, genocide and tyrannical dictatorships on a global scale. Let's also use science to find out, how we can kill each other most efficiently.

There's No Such Thing As The Dark Ages

Church = Christians unified. Anyone who claims the church suppressed Europe for a thousand years should really reconsider their self id.

How do you know what's fact or what's not? You read books perhaps? Did your homework? Then, you got the answers then the rest of us got. This is just another contrived history lesson if it's beyond what the books tell us

Buahhahah, no, it’s not a myth, having nearly 1000 years only to achieve less than people did 2000 years before you proof that it was a shitty period. Not everything was a myth, yeah of course there was some progress and some smart people in those days but in general it was shit. And it was shit for variety of reasons - feodalism, the prominense of the church, the Ottomans taking over big chunk of Europe and they were known for not liking progress. Get your alt history out of here you uneducated fantasy channel 😂

Catholic is not Christian. Americans do not dismiss European history, WE learn from it. If anything, EUROPEAN people have forgotten their own history.

@JSabh
@

I think the “dark ages” were the 1000 years of Christs Millennial reign. I think he came back around 70 AD and our chronological timeline is all jacked up with deception and false or split up history. Satan gets released to deceive the nations after the 1000 years. I think that’s where we are. I imagine satan would call a 1000 years in a bottomless pit, the “dark ages”.

@Squirt_russel

How refreshing. A medieval history video not written by AI and not filled with lies and myths. Great job!

@mammonclarke

It was dark to be a pagan nuf said

@BigOleDoinks420
@

If you want to say Dark Ages, call it for what it actually was. Europe was cut off because of the Muslim empire and literacy dropped dramatically. The church, love them or hate them took it upon themselves to write down everything they could. Which also gives credibility to the whole “they locked up books” yeah because it took dozens of hours to make said books on materials that weren’t the easiest to obtain.

@Eidolon5150
@

“They weren’t dark ages! The plagues weren’t just in Europe! They were all over the world!” Phew. That’s a relief. It’s good to know there was no where to escape the plagues. I can see now it was a much better time than we thought

A missed oppotunity to see the differences and similarities between the West and the East (which the middle ages wasn't as clear cut imo)

Lots of great white non Jewish history that certain groups don't want to go into.

@Bigchungusdeluxe
@

It's called the dark ages because knowledge from the roman empire was lost when it fell. Dark implies a shadow obscured our vision of this knowledge. Not dark because of poverty and struggle. It's more like how dark matter isn't actually dark. We just can't see it.

How mind boggling it is to even think that these people (liberal tinfoil hat experts) exists and lack the actual brainpower to do some basic research before exclaiming their literal make-believe, cowdung theories... we NEED more channel's like this one!

Tfw people still think dedicating your life to God means becoming catholic, religious, and staying inside a building doing nothing but vain rituals until you die.
