The cool thing about cash back is that you can always put that money in a high-yield account and even if the travel category is kind of weak right now, you can build a little nest egg to build up and not just let your cash back point sit

— @dragonite4242

Hey guys, in this video, I'll be breaking down the strongest no-annual-fee cashback credit cards across every major spending category to help you build a high-earning credit card setup in 2026 and beyond. We’ll cover the best credit cards for catch-all, grocery, wholesale clubs, dining, gas and EV charging, bills and utilities, shopping, entertainment, gym memberships, and even travel. Not only do I review the earning rates and caps for each credit card, but I also explain how to strategically slot them into a complete cashback credit card setup so you can realistically earn 3% to 6% back on almost all of your everyday spending. If you’ve been considering moving to Team Cashback or just want a simpler alternative to travel credit cards, this video is for you.

Is there a way to product change to the city custom cash because it's not around anymore

Brother, I stopped watching as soon as you said Robinhood Gold was the best catch-all card.

It's only worth 3% if you redeem into your Robinhood brokerage account. For straight cash it's only worth 2.1% which you can beat if you have Bank of America rewards - 2% + 10% cash back bonus = 2.2%... without the $50 membership fee.

3% cash back on insurance premiums: the no annual fee U.S. Bank State Farm Premier Cash Rewards Visa offers 3% cash back on up to $4k in spend on insurance premiums. And they don’t have to be State Farm premiums either. After $4k per year, you get 1% cash back.

This is the only card I’ve found anywhere that offers a specific cash back on insurance premiums.

2:02 - Aven mailed me their 6% grocery card last winter, but then wanted strict written documentation (tax returns, paystubs, bank statements, etc.) of my very modestly-stated income before activating it. They also would not proceed with a much more modest credit limit either.

I just got my cash back set up put together recently
Amex Blue Cash Preferred 6% on Groceries (Used the Disney bundle credit to get my fiancé to cancel peacock so I valued the 120$ credit at 96$ since I would pay 4$/mo. instead of 12$/mo. for Peacock)
Two Custom Cash Cards for 5% on Gas and Dining
Amazon Card for 5% Online Shopping (I save so much money on the shipping and fees with this card and the 5% helps a lot. I pay this annually to reduce the price by about 44$ per year)
Robin Hood Gold card for 3% everything else (With Robin Hood Banking and an IRA with Robin Hood, the Gold membership gets paid for many times over with just 3% cash back since I put about 1425$ spend on it monthly)
I also have a Freedom flex for when the category is good, I can use the Custom cash for another category if needed
I'm happy with my annual fees being canceled out with credits or other services offered granted by Robin Hood and Amazon while also getting over 100$ cash back monthly.
if anyone would have recommendations for me, I'd love to know.
Thanks for the video!

I don’t know if you’ve mentioned. But you can add some of your cards to your Amazon prime account and use all your points towards purchases. I use all my points to “reload” the gift card balance and use all that money for Christmas presents

I got approved for Robinhood gold shortly after setting up a bank account with them and transferring 1 dollar into my checking and savings. Not sure if that helped me get approved sooner but I was on the waitlist for 2 years and it was only a couple weeks after doing that I got approved.

Why doesn’t anyone make a video about simplicity. 1-2 credit cards and what cards work best with specific lifestyle i.e. single, married, married w/ kids, travel, etc. With all the changes I feel like a majority of people want simplicity and will take not getting “max” rewards for a setup that fits their lifestyle and gets them decent cash back or points or both. It’s become too much trying to tackle what card for this and what card for that. It may just be me, but I feel like a lot of people would value a video that doesn’t show them 100 cards that “max” value out; but a good 1-2 cards setup that gets them decent value

@greghanson2624
@

Spencer, nice video as always!
I think a mixed strategy may make sense here. Personally, I’d skip the more niche cards and stick with a core setup: the Amazon Prime Visa for that 5% at Amazon, the PayPal Debit (selecting groceries to cover 5% at supermarkets including Costco and the Citi Custom Cash to capture 5% on a different category like Gas or dining.
I'd also add the Bilt Palladium to the mix—it effectively gives 3.33 points on everything, which makes for a killer catch-all. To me it’s a pretty simple yet super strong setup.

What do you think about Amex blue cash preferred for gas, groceries, streaming, and transmit. Citi double cash for shopping, dining, bills, and personal

@chrisf1451
@

I started with Costco citi card & Fidelity- not bad but I have worked on increasing the return, Got Amex Blue Preferred for groceries outside of Costco - keep tabs on the cap limit, Amex Gold, Wyndam for gas, FIGFCU-Farmer's Insurance Crystal which gives 3% on all with no cap. No fee the first yr but goes down to 2.5% in the 2nd yr. Might transition after 1 yr. Waited too long for Robinhood and didn't like the details. Got the Chase SR and the Venture X and a few hotel cards. I got the Altitude Connect card-liked no fee but ended up not using and closed. I try to put everything on cards.

Attune is lowkey my favorite card. So many weird categories that none of my other cards do better than 2 or 3 percent.

@JordanEMAW
@

Spencer this was a great video! I am definitely looking at the Attune & Autograph Duo from Wells. Do you know if you can get both with a single hard pull? You may want to do a video like this for 2X, 3X or 4X duos with NavyFed Flagship as a 2X catch-all and 3X on travel with a $139 Amazon Prime membership credit that negates the $50 AF and you also get TSA/Global Entry and you can combine this with the no AF More Rewards that give 3X on Gas, Groceries, Dinning, Takeout, Tolls, Trains, Subways and maybe parking. I just product switched it from the NO AF 10% Apr interest rate card that is great for balance transfers permanently.

@drchrisheidelberg

I got off the waitlist earlier this year, after applying for the fidelity credit card. So my backbone card will be Robinhood, and considering getting the Amex blue card for 6% on groceries.

im glad you did a review on cash back cards specifically .

Received email from AAA Advantage will get nerfed on 15 May 26. Walmart will be dropped for Groceries and Gas. Gas must be from stand from alone Gas Stations. Gas from Convenience store will also be dropped. Big box stores will not be effected.

@volkswagen4866
@

I used to try to maximize but I've given up--too much to keep track of. I have 6 no annual fee cards with recurring subscriptions and set them to autopay to keep them open, so I have a strong credit profile. Only ever use a 2% cash back card for everything else.

@tonyfweb
@

I use Robinhood gold, Amex Blue Preferred 6% Grocery and Streaming, Sam’s Club 5% gas and at Sam’s, CitiCustom Cash for dining. and Discover it for rotating categories.

@JLCole85
@

Could be wrong here, but I think you have to select "apparel" category for paypal debit to get 5% at walmart, never tried at costco tho.

@drsavage8714

Without doubt there are some hidden gems when it comes to cashback when using Credit Unions. Sadly, some of them got nerf 😢

@AlexGoezTravel

I'm not understanding why everybody goes for the Robin Hood gold instead of the Aven rewards. They're from the same bank and it's much easier to get to Aven.

17:05 Affinity Federal Credit Union has a Cash Rewards Visa Signature Credit Card that gives 5% back on bookstores and office supply stores

Since Amazon started as an online bookstore, it offers 5% back at Amazon, too – it used to be for up to $3,500 per month, but now it’s up to $1,000 per month

Glad to see you getting more cashback content out! This is now the best current cashback guide on the internet IMO. I have mentioned before that I run a full 5% cashback set-up for every category, and I think you did a good job hitting those category-specific cards. You hit every card in my 5% line-up in fact. Great to see you mentioning Aven too! Mine is currently getting me 3-10% cashback on all my purchases due to various offers I've taken advantage of. Fantastic card for me, almost too good to be true, but I am sure it will be nerfed soon. Also, I strangely did NOT get a hard pull on my report when I applied for it back to August, very strange.
