AMAZINGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG vid coach, could you PLEASE answer me a doubt?
Im trying to apply the slow push in my games, I'm a main syndra and when im facing another mage, I try to hard push the first 2 waves to get lvl 2 first and get a bounce back to me, should I apply the slow push instead of hard pushing the first 2 waves?
In the case Im doing the right thing, I should begin doing the slow push after the bounce back?
Thanks alot mate, youre my favorite coach <3

do u have any advice to climb to gm from master
@mfilippov7718As Malzahar i always hardpush but i learn more and more thats stupid
@DarkGladiator0does that also apply for bot lane ?
@EmulutionWhat if I'm Akali I don't have good wave clear and wave control
@ayied-v9bTo be more specific for freezing, you can hold more than 4 minions for a freeze, and if you can just tank the minion damage and zone the enemy laner, it can actually be better to do so since they will kill your minions faster and make it harder for the enemy laner to get XP. You just need to then thin the minion wave a bit and hold it again to keep it from going under tower after your minions die. Champs that have good sustain or shields can do this for a while and make the enemy laner either miss XP or stay vulnerable to ganks for a while.
I do this a lot in top and bot lanes since it's scary for most champs to be pushed way up in those lanes for an extended amount of time. In bot lane especially, so many players will greed for plates which makes sure they are always staying on your side of the lane. The thing is that those plates mean nothing if they get ganked and double killed and lose a bunch of XP and give over gold multiple times.
ok now do a video on to increase my size and i’m not talking wave management 😢
@fernyyy5How are you always posting about stuff when I'm trying to learn them lmao. Keep up the grind <3.
@axsyiiGreat video overall as always. although I would like to add 4 more ideas to this. Before I do though consider the fact that there's an assumption that you will be safe when you attempt one of these. Also if you don't to read a bunch of yap the most important and the most concise point will be the last one.
(1)Firstly, there was no explicit mention of the ability that wave states can be dynamic. Meaning that you can transition into other types of wave states and the enemy can attempt to do the same. It's important to know not all wave states can be transitioned into other wave states by you. I think most examples are self-explanatory but I'd like to mention the exception to the rule which is waves which are pushing away from your tower due to size or location. Then it's on the enemy to "counter" the automatic slow push the minions create themselves.
(2)Next is the idea of low value spells. This, like the name suggests is quite the opposite of high value spells. Specifically avoiding hitting the wave but still poking out the enemy. This is definitely a niche thing and you could use it for 3 reasons. The first point is when you're stronger than your opponent so even with the bigger wave you win trades. Allowing for them to both be poked out and for you to setup a freeze. Secondly, when the enemy's wave is in the "held" position meaning there is not a minion advantage for them to play off of. Lastly would be to just keep the freeze going. If you hit the wave and poke the enemy simultaneously whilst they hit the wave less than you. This will result in the wave starting to push out.
(3)The next point was mentioned but I'd like to approach it from a different, simple angle. I like to define slow push as hitting the minions as little as possible after creating a small push either through a small location or size advantage. That could be when the wave "bounces" from your tower, you would like to push after freezing, or hit the minions in the neutral state slightly more than the opponent. Then fast push is hitting the wave as you can (once again as long as it's safe).
(3.a)Then using these definitions I like to think of three scenarios. For these let's assume the wave state is neutral. There's the fast push which is pushing the wave as fast as possible the only pros of this that it allows you to react as fast as you can to something happening on the map other than just ditching the wave. That's the only pro. There are 2 downsides to this firstly you can set up the enemy to set up an easy freeze if you don't pay attention to when the next wave is arriving in the lane and secondly it's terrible at buying you a lot of time as you have to use all your abilities on the wave with an equal amount of minions meaning you aren't getting much help from them. This option is usually a last resort, when you don't have time for other options or didn't anticipate action in the river or jungle.
(3.b)Then there's an option to slow push all the way until the next slow push would crash into the tower and then switching to a fast push. I like to refer to this as a stacked wave. Just meaning there's a lot of stacked waves as you could very obviously imagine. This one kind of breaks the "neutral" wave state rule as it's advantages come the most from a bounce out of under your tower. This allows the largest distance to build the stack. Following the same train of thought it becomes less useful in mid due to the shorter distance of the lane from from tier 1 towers. The biggest advantage this gets you is the most amount of tempo(time) you can possibly get out of your wave. Allowing you to secure drake, poke or dive them, or reset and practically lose the minimal amount of resources.
(3.c)Lastly there's a slow push into a fast push. This is the "cleanest" option. It gets you the best of both worlds. It's also very similar if not identical to the 2 wave crash mentioned in the video. Key advantage is the bigger wave to crash whilst also being more flexible than the stacked wave. Adding to that, if done correctly or close to the wave will reset to a neutral state. Allowing you to rinse and repeat. Applying a lot of pressure on the enemy and jungler as they will be pinging for assistance as you're perceived to be overextended. As you're stacking a more than one wave the first wave also help you push faster (little hint: ranged minions do the most damage in a standard wave). So this allows you to have more time to -> harass, roam, or reset. If the roam for example doesn't work out or you realise there is no reason to continue to can continue repeating this.
(3.d)BONUS: slow push into slow/medium push. This is what I refer to as a "dirty" crash. The wave will not reset to the middle instead it will start pushing into you. This one is more risky than the slow push into fast push as the the plan for this one is to crash the wave just before the next wave arrives. So instead of the wave dying before the wave arrives your crash will hold the new minions under tower. This would buy you can extra ~30sec to 1 min before the minions will crash as long as the crash. Big caveat to this that the enemy "new" wave (using this terminology may be confusing) needs to clear out your dirty crash so that your "new" wave (the one matching the enemy's new wave) will not get hit by the tower. So that way it won't really quickly push back to you denying the whole reason for this type of crash.
(4) You should know what you want out of your wave and WHY. You could pick any of the options above but it won't matter if you don't know why. Firstly it starts with what can you actually do in this lane (your champ vs their champ+their jungler) it's easier to assume that your jungler may not ever come mid for a multitude of reasons (wrong or not). This could be something to consider but this could leave you disappointed if they path to a different lane or just full clear their third full clear. You can assume what type of tendencies they may have depending on the champ but this can easily go out the window. That is, easy gank on enemy but your lee keeps clearing or a yi does a level 3 gank. Then you have to play to what is happening on the map. Basically think of this as setting up a wave state which doesn't match what your jungler and or team is doing. Setting up a freeze when your team wants to dive bot, invade, contest objective and then blaming your team for committing to the invade. Of course if you literally cannot push the wave as you're too weak or low on resources, you can be happy that you could not have done more. OORR you could follow a train of thought and keep asking why. Why am I low on resources, why did they invade, then following this you can come up with answer and then ask why again. This way you will have clarity of what happened and the possible mistakes that may have occurred 30 seconds to an unknown time ago.
Also this concepts and the way they apply shift and change over time. Early game there's generally "less" wave clear and "less" action. But I've already written enough so I won't go further.
Thanks for reading just wanted to get some thoughts down and decided on sharing them. If you disagree with something let me know. Otherwise if you read to the end thank you legend.
If Tim wants me to remove this pls let me know. But I think sharing high quality educational content is a must. There's an amazing video which visualises what I talked about and way more based on wave management It's from "Sho Coaching."
