Hi can we be friends ? I am moving to the Netherlands this year in sept/ august
Points Made:
* Living in cities other than Amsterdam
it is even way more complicated when one moves here as an expat at a later stage than Master! it seems for me Dutch gets really turned on when you do not speak their language ! that comes in as a surprise for me - i sense sometimes a passive agressive attitude in my daily experience ...I will be glad when i finish my term here to leave wherever the next jobs takes us...and the house finding challenge is quite smth !
* Transportation Expense
* Making Friends
is tht ur real hair,lookin cute
* Dutch Bank Account (you need your BSN:Burgerservicenummer to open a bank account)
* Language Barrier (by fined I was referring to a time when curfews where implemented during the pandemic. This does not apply now)
Learning to speak Dutch is key to making meaningful Dutch friendships. They will respect you more and take you more seriously.
* Healthcare System
* Fines & Taxes
The decor is sick tho

I have family in NL but have lived most of my life in the States. I would like to move to NL and live for two years to better connect with them. It seems like living in Amsterdam would be nice since I am an expat, but I would just be making the affordable housing situation worse.

@henkbangma3015Are you still living in the Netherlands, my dear
@janentende8644Really like the video and how you speak āŗļø
@JulianesofiaaIn Netherlands credit cards doesn't work, but international debit cards usually works without problems
@emadabrilkaiteI think it's the same in the United States, making friends after everyone has families is almost inexistent.
Everyone person is very independent.
You definitely didnāt do any research before moving there ! This is a racist tradition . Donāt come to America with that pagan crap.
@jimmeymcgee2840As a expat try before you buy, living for me is better outside big cities more space less costs and crowds. Tip do seek out ex-pats as you can make friends easy and they may include Dutch friends. I have experience racism which can be worse when you understand Dutch as you hear it in phrases so indirectly. But that said there are normal secure nice people also. Food try to explore farms often better value (landwinkel). Schools are of good standard international quality vary between locations so explore for your needs but often juniors are linked to secondary. Itās a good country ok summer but overall a wet rainy place. Big population in a small place.
@anthonygrodecki7968Thank you, this was very helpful. Iām planning a scouting trip in hopes of moving to the ND. Anything you can share about cost of living and cultural differences like work/life balance, what usual store hours are, etc would be DOPE
@TarotlogicallySpeakingHow about you go home and make your own country better.
@saddlesnifferAmazing!!!
@fernandasilva2552Where is your location in Netherlands
@bensoncharles2371Wow, very informative! Didn't realize that the Netherlands had so many taxes also.
@chase_dylanKindly tell me apartment in Hague for rent pleaseā¦šš
@ashaadonlyI love Harlem š„°š„°š„°š„°š„°
@diegoquinteiro8974the people in dutch specially kids that life here are also looking for jobs housing ? if its hard for you how hard will it be if immigratans filling the jobs > of the citizens look how they build immigants in citys and if they go out the zones the white dutch texas poeple there dont like that see for yourself rent you get scammed if you dont find a real hous broker or goverment coporations al these things
@Stracciways23You want to live here and profit from all the amenities, learn dutch!
@judiklettenmeijer854hope that it's going better now, 2 years in solitude make it hard when facing simple administration issues
@hpdj6620Please I what to come I need good agent
@QueenVivian-m5fWhy did you move to the Netherlands and not build your home country? If everybody with any form of education leaves Africa it will always stay poor and badly developed. And than blame it on colonialism
@leenprael3583Is netherland Holland?
@chikellyateh6321Amsterdam biking is not really entry level difficultly.
You can get a anonymous transport card or an personal. Personal has a large discount 40 or 50% i think. You can also get other subscriptions for other discounts.
Thank you!!!
@amityboy14moDont use a device while being a member of traffic. Not on a bike and not in a car. When you participate in traffic you should pay attention on traffic and not your phone!
@jeroenvanzwam6991Jumbo also accepts amex and visa. In EU you can use your debitcard almost everywhere.
@jeroenvanzwam6991I like how you talk. very expressive, straight to the point and eloquent
@isimemeniyoha1457How are "race relations" there - the folks of the Netherlands celebrate a day where they pain their faces black, put in red lip stick and wear afro wigs.....š¤ would luv to hear how u feel inside when the folks of the netherlands celebrate this racist idea???
@nunya2162I hope and wish that no more foreigners come and stay in my country. It is full. Most dont even have the decency to learn the language. They complain that its so difficult yet my Thai wife learned it in one year. She speaks, writes fluent Dutch. So never use stupid excuses. You take housing of which we have short supply. That causes the rents to skyrocket. In the big cities I cannot even speak my own language anymore in retail shops; restaurants etc. English only. INSANE
