Today’s Iran is a complicated, intriguing, but also a fascinating place, with some of the most welcoming and curious people you will ever meet. I traveled through Iran in 2013, and in this video I take you back to 10 favorite places that I visited.

Here’s a brief overview of the content in this video:

We start this journey in Esfahan, one of Iran’s most beautiful and friendliest cities, attracting tourists and travelers from afar. It is filled with captivating monuments, historic buildings, tranquil gardens, museums, and in general provides a great introduction to daily life in Iran.

Makes me wanna visit places like this one day. Thanks!

— @StoriesAI-Annie

After Esfahan, we travel to Kerman, a city on the fringes of the desert. It is most popular for what lies outside the city, the remains of the ‘Arg’ (an ancient citadel), and the small town of Rayen with its beautiful gardens and shrine. Not far from here are the Kaluts, some of Iran’s most spectacular desert scenery. These places are best reached by private vehicle, as public transport here is limited.

Iran has a long coastline and several island, the largest of which is Qeshm, in the Persian Gulf. This island is relatively underdeveloped and retains much of its traditional characteristics. It’s a great way to get an insight into local Bandari culture, and to witness some of the local economy at work, including agriculture, fishing, and the construction of classic ‘lenge’ boats.

#help #iran 🕊 The regime has shut down the internet once again to shut civilians!!!! Please be their voice!

Shiraz is regarded as the center of Persian culture for the last two millennia, and has some of the country’s most beautiful ancient bazaars and historic mosques. It’s also home for the tombs of Hafez and Sa’di, two poets that hold a special place in Iranian society and literature. The ruins of Persepolis, just outside Shiraz, evoke images of a thriving ancient Persia, and should not be missed.

The next destination is Tehran, the bustling capital city, and beating economic heart, of Iran. As the most secular and liberal city in the country, it’s the best place to learn about modern Iran. Qom, on the other hand, is one of the conservative ‘strongholds’ in the country, and provides an interesting contrast with Tehran.

— @EnochSweet

We travel further to Kandovan, a beautiful mountain village where some of the houses are carved out of eroded rocks. It’s near Tabriz, the final destination in the video, famous for its magnificent bazaar.

why didn't you include the snow and jungles in the north?

⚡️👉Cyrus the great🦅🙌 (c. 601/590 BC-530 BC)Cyrus II of Persia now called modern Iran.
Iranians, be like the heart of your forefather Cyrus the great who freed the Jews from captivity and helped rebuild the Temple in Jerusalem. Cyrus the great was the founder of the Achaemenid Empire and the founding father of the Iranian Nation. Still the greatest after 2,555 years 🦅☝️🕊 .May Iranians✋️ obey and follow the righteous path of  your forefather Cyrus the great to glorify and proclaim the mighty deeds of Almighty God⚡️ towards other nations by bringing peace🕊 and love🤍 without the dark life and dark plans. Iranians, shine as an original light of the world and an original light of life like God who shines like the sun💥!!

👉Isaiah 44:26-28🦅⚡️🕊
26 who confirms the word of his servant
    and fulfills the counsel of his messengers,
who says of Jerusalem, ‘She shall be inhabited,’
    and of the cities of Judah, ‘They shall be built,
    and I will raise up their ruins’;
27 who says to the deep, ‘Be dry;
    I will dry up your rivers’;
28 who says of Cyrus, ‘He is my shepherd,
    and he shall fulfill all my purpose’;
saying of Jerusalem, ‘She shall be built,’
    and of the temple, ‘Your foundation shall be laid.’”

👉Isaiah 45:1-4🦅⚡️🕊
Cyrus, God's Instrument
45 Thus says the Lord to his anointed, to Cyrus,
    whose right hand I have grasped,
to subdue nations before him
    and to loose the belts of kings,
to open doors before him
    that gates may not be closed:
2 “I will go before you
    and level the exalted places,[a]
I will break in pieces the doors of bronze
    and cut through the bars of iron,
3 I will give you the treasures of darkness
    and the hoards in secret places,
that you may know that it is I, the Lord,
    the God of Israel, who call you by your name.
4 For the sake of my servant Jacob,
    and Israel my chosen,
I call you by your name,
    I name you, though you do not know me.

👉Ezra 1:1-3🦅⚡️🕊
The Proclamation of Cyrus
1 In the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of the Lord by the mouth of Jeremiah might be fulfilled, the Lord stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, so that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom and also put it in writing:
2 “Thus says Cyrus king of Persia: The Lord, the God of heaven, has given me all the kingdoms of the earth, and he has charged me to build him a house at Jerusalem, which is in Judah.
3 Whoever is among you of all his people, may his God be with him, and let him go up to Jerusalem, which is in Judah, and rebuild the house of the Lord, the God of Israel—he is the God who is in Jerusalem.

Be like Cyrus the great to glorify and proclaim the mighty deeds of Almighty God⚡️ towards other nations by bringing peace🕊 and love🤍 without the dark life and dark plans.

Excellent travelogue. A fascinating country, culture, and history! I noticed that, in most views, there is very little, if any, litter on the streets. Is this typical of Iranian cities? In my country of America, city streets are littered with all kinds of trash.

Nice video 👍🏻 ____Greetings from Azerbaijan to Iran. Some crazy nationalists and fascists are really muddying the waters. Even if no one admits it, we have a common culture and similar facial features regarding Iran. As an Azerbaijani anarchist living in Baku, I can say this: Long live the brotherhood of peoples, peace and love, do not give way to fascists, let fascism, racism, nationalism be destroyed.____
