I’m glad Hitchcock is number one on the list, but I think Psycho and Rear Window are far better than Vertigo. I know it’s a good movie but for me those two are hard to top. Mostly Rear Window for this category.

The absolute BEST #1 thriller I've ever seen in my 7 decades of movie watching, is, hands down 'HEAD HUNTERS' , a Norwegian film.

Whoa, Whoa, Whoa!! Not one mention of The Usual Suspects?? 😱 Not in the criminal category or the psychological thriller? Are you brain dead?? Whether you ultimately name Suspects as the winner in either category, this film is so cleverly constructed and uses deception to such a polished degree it is a must for at least one of these categories. I will go so far as to say it tops Vertigo, which (ok, start booing me now) I have always considered over rated and not in Hitch's top 5. Massive points off for this omission. 👎

Oh i get why they find us similar in a certain way-no, as in what that way is.
Its that Myself, the Nuns, and Azula; we have, i guess, ermh, i dont know the best way to put this. Its not all that accurate, but i'll say it like this; we have learned to embrace tension, even take part in its creation - that is, in reality. Just as so many of us have learned a way of acceptance; such that, were percieved certain death appearing so suddenly - be there suprise shock awe fear or whatever -, there would be a gaze at it, like one gazes at ones reflection, knowing from the start, it is that ones face staring back, and no one elses.
Dream House and Skeleton Key.
@lyndayates7533High and Low was a bit of a clumsy police procedural. Then you realize that this was made 30 years before Law and Order and it was actually the first police procedural. And the end is very chilling where he's talking to the guy in jail and that big gate comes crashing down. And you also figure out where Spielberg got the idea for the little girl in the red dress from Schindler's List. This is a movie for anyone interested in cinema history.
@thebookwasbetter3650Saw Safety Last recently in the theater. This theater has an old fashioned pipe organ that rises from the stage. A guy played it throughout the whole movie and even had some sound effects. At $20 it's the most expensive movie ticket I've ever bought but totally worth it. It really was a magical evening.

one of my gauges is the "gasp" moment; for that, Wait Until Dark and Dead Again.
@mkatzfive5A movie I highly recommend that isnt in this list is "A simple plan". It has some dark turns and the cast is great.
