This semi was equipped with side-underride guards which SAVED THE LIFE of the trooper. @5:50

Man, it's unfortunate but in my opinion, when a suspect is going 140 mph he is endangering hundreds of lives, just a couple at a time as he flies by them at deadly speed. I would rather them be TVI'd than let them crash into someone else, resulting in a fatality. How many pursuit videos have we seen end that way? Too many.

BE NICE:
Thank god the semi acted so nonchalantly to being hit i was so sure that it was gonna start loosing control too cus of the force that the cop rammed him with

As soon as I seen Arkansas I knew it was gonna get bad 😭😭
@dayday983410:48 Yeah, at 60, sure. Not *140*. Seriously, if it was a van full of kids and not a semi, would people feel the same?
@andrewbloom7694Yeah, that felt super unnecessary.
@andrewbloom7694AH officer. These stupid chases MUST STOP. PITTING ON A BRIDGE WITH TRUCK TRAFFIC. IDIOTIC. "This semi was equipped with side-underride guards which SAVED THE LIFE of the trooper." SO?????? The officer is at fault. Sounds like a bunch of hillbillies. BS on defending this. BS.
@neccowafer1299Good job. Ended another serial criminal.
@BamaMarkThis is the "happy ending" all pursuits should have.
@WhatTheGravelWest Memphis cops arent the brightest, neither are the typical drivers there
@julienyray2470Arkansas won't be happy until lunatic byrd kills some innocent civilians
@geraldhertzogsr2840I agree, a dude that hits people over the head and robs them is going 140 running from the police. Needs to he stopped quick, he doesnt care about anyone.
@Richnoroddy178I'm glad nobody got hurt. Every state should be more forceful when stopping criminals running.
@stasjonsmesterringstabekk5662It is very clear that a pit maneuver was carried out by the trooper. I hope that the truck carrying Little Debbie Snacks made it safely to its destination.
@frankblangeard8865Poor judgement on the trooper's part. He should be held accountable for destruction of a guard rail AND the late shipment of Lil Debbie's to the near by schools.
@scottlincoln6286Sounds like a hole bunch of cop splannin. It's ego that makes a Gestapo member go 140 miles per hour in heavy traffic. That officer on his own put everyone in danger. Simply could have used flock cameras. Much safer maneuver.
@proudpatriot7353Normally i don't like the police much, especially as untrained as they are in america, but james byrd will always be a legend
@WinterMute99As much as I respect police, this was a very bad decision by the cop. High speed PIT in traffic. WTF dude?
@WinstonSmith26Byrd is the goat
@kmking1986Screw the media, Monday morning quarterbacks & boards of inquiry. I'll side with the ASP.
@saracuda1Playing too much GTA leads to quality end of life experiences like this.... if you are going to game, don't drive kids!
@stephenwallace7288Anyone going against Trooper Byrd is a traitor.
@boom1538Is this the legend Trooper Byrd??
@WHOKILLEDRONCompletely disagree. Byrd should've been charged, using a pit at those speeds is reckless.
@JustinT1820Don't want to die due to a TVI/PIT? Don't run the fuck from the police.
@DavleyOfficer was in the right
@eroc1212I'll bet you that trucker had a cosmic brownie in his pants and kept on trucking 😂
@BenM-NRPI was expecting this officer to be in his late 40s or 50s based on his voice, calmness and driving... then the picture of thw BABY FACE cop pops up! This dude has MAD DRIVING SKILLS!!!!!! It would have been a text book pit if the criminal didnt hit the breaks!
@CcC864_20This made sense after I heard it was trooper Byrd
@An_old_waffleI dont even think little miss debbie even knew she was part of the action I dont think she felt that
@RaphaelCortez-m8f2:07 like how you did the math
@leviandnailaI do agree that the TVI is excellent tactic. Running from the police comes with consequences upto and including death therefore it should always be ruled against the suspects in my opinion
@camdennash497Wtf is that cop doing at those speeds. That was an irresponsible maneuver at that speed.
@KruellNationGamingWtg , great cop. We call them "informats"...
@KruellNationGamingThat was a beautiful crash. Thanks for your service, sorry about that guardrail.
@morezcoPlay big boy games, big boy punishments are on the table! I back the trooper!!!
@zyxw-oe8hgThis officer is a race car driver that decided to become a cop.
@darksoul479One less dangerous dirtbag criminal I don’t see any problem.
@nicebunsmagoo5346What a f-ed world we live in where police rules of engagement are set to protect the criminals instead of the public in danger from the criminals
@LMan8787Im not against PITs per se, but I do think the criteria for when a pursuit is justified/necessary needs a serious overhaul. Essentially, they should only be initiating pursuits if the suspect is more dangerous than the pursuit/PIT.
Otherwise, they should just focus on gathering evidence and organizing a suspect acquisition that is on their terms. People sleep, people eat, people cannot be on guard 24/7 for a indeterminant amount of time. Law enforcement has every advantage in this information economy, so they need to use it and stop risking innocent lives unnecessarily. It's a little more complicated than that, but police chases are old tactics that need to be phased out in favor of planned arrest.
Just to reiterate, I'm not saying we stop PITs, I'm saying we overhaul the criteria for when a pursuit should be authorized alongside improving how we go about arresting unwilling individuals.
Perfect pit Trooper. Glad you're okay!
@sandrajones3994Totally agree on using The TVI -- pit man. Thank you sir.
@claudemcwhorterI’m thinking we should charge a $500,000 fine for every mile they flee
@pennywisenibbles4949"Suspect determined to be low risk to re-offend."
@tomwichman77Saving prison expenses too
@Tokaisho1No loss though. Good work Trooper Byrd 👍👍
@joparish1037Great cover on a very sketchy situation. Thanks for being objective, as I am a dykhed 2nite. Thanks for all the real troopers and all law enforcement around the world doing their jobs respectfully.
@shawnfranco1822The trooper did a great job. You DON"T mess around with Georgia State Police, Arkansas, and Texas troopers will make you dance! That's the difference between UFC and a real life incident. Special rules vs. NO RULES. Good times.
