"The day before President Trump announced a 90-day pause on his sweeping tariffs, sending markets exploding higher, his investment accounts quietly purchased hundreds of stocks near the market low, trades that were not publicly disclosed until more than a year later despite federal disclosure requirements.
One of the most corrupt governments in the world right now is that of the USA. The President openly uses his power to benefit himself and his family, and the public tolerates it. His family even negotiates directly with seasoned politicians, aiming to secure private gain from the dealings. Soon, the "Orange Man" intends to make his social media content accessible only for a fee—another way to cash in—since he could potentially influence the stock markets again, and people are expected to pay to see that, and so on. How low has the American public sunk? It will be very difficult to climb out of this hole. The USA is certainly no longer the democracy it claims to be. Trust in the USA has been destroyed worldwide.
The purchases, finally disclosed in a 927-page annual financial disclosure filed with the Office of Government Ethics on Monday, reveal a churn of transactions that was quietly playing out all last year: Trump's accounts were actively trading stocks throughout 2025 while he was making policy decisions that moved markets, and the public had no idea."

Don't blame the player blame the game. I hate Trumpstein as much as the next person, but I also understand capitalism. Congress has had many many many and many more opportunities to pass laws that prevents insider trading that would stop Presidents from insider trading that would stop a President from making horrible economic decisions based on filling their pockets, but Congress does that as well and so they will never pass a law that prevents insider trading plus it makes people like you to talk about it keeping you distracted.

@SpiritualOne-p2uPresidents should be confined to the White House for their term, and prohibited from paying for anything other than the standard Presidential meals and other services so they have less incentive for self-dealing. It won’t completely eliminate incentive for it, but at least cut down on it for the kind of self-dealing that either doesn’t benefit them until they leave the White House, and until then only benefits family members at most.
