TypeScript 7 Officially Released And Boy Is It Fast
Video Overview & Insights
TypeScript 7 is officially released, and the compiler is Go now. We break down exactly what changed, why the builds are so much faster, and what it means for your own projects.
browsers doesn't run TS directly. So, we need to transpile it to JS, Vite iss pretty fast enough to do that. Bun or Deno natively executes TS way faster than TS's current compiler. I really don't understand why this Go re-write happened and what is it for?

I tested it out long back on my 15 year old pentium dual core laptop next js blog project and it's still faster. Testing framework takes time as it lacks cpu grunt which quad cores and octa cores complete within a minute. I could upgrade it to i7 3630x but it's hard to find on eBay and don't want to be ripped off.
Rust rewrites initially worked fine but became slower on older hardware.

Who cares? At the end of the day, Typescript is still a weak toy language. Lipstick on a pig, JavaScript. And you can talk about vscode all day long, because all the cool kids are moving over to Zed, or similarly good editors implemented in real programming languages.
