I grew up in the 60s and 70s, and at the time, there was boxers (considered "old man drawers") or full rise, fly front white briefs. they were simply called underwear. You go into a locker room, or boy scout camp, and everyone strips down, and it was like a uniform. fruit of the loom, or Hanes, and if you wanted to be exotic, there was Jockey Y fronts. First time I saw color briefs was as a teenager, in a laundromat. This guy had a pair of navy blue briefs, with white piping, and I remember thinking "hey, that looks cool". I still have a fondness for tighty whiteys for that reason, I think. I'm pretty active on the job, so briefs work best for me. Boxers are ok, for laying around the house, in the summer. Thongs and bikinis can sometimes be fun.
