Man as a twice stan i want jihyo's sister to have a unique concept. All these hybe groups keep following NJ formula 😭 it feels like hybe nated min hee jin so much they destroyed NJ and are now copying their formula to have the same impact newjeans had but it's just not possible, NJ became huge because they were unique at that time. While big 3 are still maintaining their style, hybe subsidaries and smaller companies keep chasing the NJ effect.

4. People can be loud on twitter but you see real life and realize that no it’s not reality, I’ve seen it with newjeans, bts, blackpink, Hudson Williams, zendaya, and in real life their careers are thriving & are actually really loved in the public eye.

Respectfully BTS get nothing out of winning a Grammy people paradoxically think is simultaneously made specifically for them to win, but also is a slap in the face to not give them a "real" Grammy. Winning that award means literally nothing in the face of their history, and achievements. But also, given Swim, and potentially even Hooligan, 2.0 and Body to Body may not even qualify for the category so they would have to nominate Aliens, and with all due respect as good as that song is (best on the album) it is still firmly in B-side territory and having to promote that song would be a lot harder than Swim which I think was evidently what the had planned to submit to the Grammy's before this category was invented and announced. Frankly I would not be shocked if this award was not supposed to go to BTS at all and was actually planned to be a major upset, because the Grammy's love attention, BTS winning the category everyone outside of K-pop thought they purchased outright is boring, giving that win to a different artist, especially a K-pop artist, would be massive press and would genuinely harm BTS's reputation. I mean can you image the drama that would come out of people saying BTS came back from the military and flopped, I mean that already happened, imagine if the awards started flowing to another group like Stray Kids... Massive press for that, massive fanwars, and massive legitimacy given to anyone who wants to push the BTS suck now narrative.

So Imagine you are BTS, you gain literally nothing from winning this award, you stand to lose a near flawless legacy if you lose, and you hand a lot of legendary status off to anyone who would beat you, and maybe you looked at the set up and realised losing was a real risk. Then you take a peek online and see your own fans already calling the award a slap in the face, with the entire industry at large calling it racist. Now you have an incredibly good way to back out, which actually undoes much of the Grammy Pandering accusations that Airirang was suffering from in the first place. So why would you not back out? They get more from saying nah F- that in the long term by playing the game. It's plain smart PR, because now anyone who wins will be called racist, spineless or they "only won because BTS dropped out." Essentially they have poisoned the well so it can't be used against them, if let's say Enhypen were to walk away with the win, Engene would be unable to brag about it without people bringing up BTS. Whoever wins doesn't matter, all the conversation and press will go to BTS not attending.

But Imagine you are a group in the tier just below BTS, you have a lot to gain by winning this award. People don't count Huntrix, so winning this would make you the first K-pop artist to win a Grammy, which gives a level of western validation which can boost a career massively. Especially if it were to go to a newer more Rookie group. Like Imagine that Nmixx were to submit and win with Blue Valentine or Heavy Serenade, that would massively boost their career and their reputation as a musically serious group. So why would they not submit? Just because BTS has nothing to gain winning this Grammy doesn't mean that's the case for everyone else. Each group has to consider where they are, and what winning could do for them.

Jyp one label has so many groups but nobody says sht but when Hybe debuts a group from their different label..it's a disaster....

cortis has like 12 songs, it’s way too early for hybe to make them go on tour. there should’ve at least been cover stages or unreleased songs especially since cortis already shares a lot of their unreleased songs. le sserafim’s first tour was a year and a half after their debut, illit’s first tour was a year and 10 months after their debut, and many other hybe groups didn’t immediately go on tour in their first year. hybe should’ve waited until they have enough songs to perform so they don’t perform the same songs over and over again.

Regarding the recording, i think recording works with kpop concerts because fans are normally there for the idols rather than the music itself (and i dont mean it in bad way) fans do obviously listen to kpop music and love it, but mostly fans have bias, favourite idol etc, you know its with any pop genre. It makes more sense to have no recording concerts for rock, jazz etc, where fans becomes a fan for music itself rather than for the singers.

Are you gonna review the Lollapalooza K-pop sets? Because they were... a mixed bag imo. Winter genuinely ate every other idol tf up, and Jennie ran out of breath AND charisma halfway through the first song so I was hitting that 5-second skip button immediately. CORTIS had really good energy--loved seeing Juicy J pop out--and I-DLE was pretty good too (their music just isn't my taste). I just can't get over the dead stare behind some idols' eyes, and it really comes out at a festival like that where they're put next to someone like Tate Mcrae, who was being THE mother c*ntress on stage. Idk... it kinda reminded me of the Sabrina v. Justin Coachella debate that happened this year.
