For anyone who defends the US debt saying most of it is owed to the US government itself (via moving around between departments above and beyond what is in the Congressional budget) or that it is owed to other Americans (which presumably their reasoning is that ultimately the US government has sovereignty over Americans so creditor Americans have no real way to demand repayment of Treasury Bonds) maybe Demonocracy Info should then make a video of just the foreign debt owed by the US Government. It'd still be very large.

Banks are in the business of making money and if the Government wants to borrow money from a Bank then they are going to take the interest payments. Congressmen receive contributions from Big Banking, Banking has a lobby and aside from some bailouts here and there I guess they generally do a good job. I guess. I've been "defunded" for years and it may have come from my study of Economics. I'm not wholly afraid to ask the question - How should America fund the country. Do we need to go into debt. I own bonds and other people own bonds so is that sort of borrowing really evil? Do I need to imitate Jesus Christ and throw the money lenders out of the temple? I just checked and currently America according to Wikipedia has a total of $178 Trillion. Debt was somewhere around 40 Trillion and I don't know if this number included the National Debt. The value of the Economy is also around $30 Trillion. So I don't know if these numbers match up and our debt is a reasonable amount... but I don't like hearing threats that we might end up in "Debt Slavery". Avoiding this risk is almost worth eliminating any debt. Sure, we need to grow the economy and I've read that an inadequate amount of Pennies in the Economy was linked to the Depression. And would the price of Groceries decline if we eliminated our national debt. Does our debt increase food prices? America needs the best economists in the world and we can afford the best. We need to organize our Economy for our people. We should not be worrying about debt if it is working in our favor.
