Okay this cream cheese frosting is literally THE BEST you’re going to try. It’s rich, creamy, tart and has the perfect level of sweetness. It’s great for piping too!
If we use use thicknd cream is it fine ?
The secret? LEMON JUICE! With the addition of fresh lemon juice (yes – it must be FRESH!), there’s an added layer of tartness. It adds an incredible depth of flavour and is the perfect combo with cream cheese!

Hi! I'm new here. I know the recipe has been posted for a while, but I had a question. Doesn't lemon juice curdle butter or cream cheese? I'm a little worried about ruining a whole batch of frosting for a cake and having to buy more and spend money again. I hope this isn't a strange question. Thanks for your recipes, I love them! 🩷

I made this for the red velvet cake and I absolutely found it terrible sweet. For me who is quite a big sweet tooth I just despise American butter cream and cream cheese really didn’t help much. So for me no! Buttercream is just pure sugar. It kills all the taste.

Could I lessen the icing sugar (for my diabetic relatives)? Would it compromise the consistency of the icing if I cut back on it?

What difference does it make to add lemon? I normally make my cream cheese not to sweet and it’s delicious, however it almost completely melts when I add it to the pipping bag making it almost impossible to pipe. Will the lemon make the cream cheese buttercream more stable?

Hi, can you use this for Russian piping tips?
@mariababyfaceSo I made two times and both times I got some little lumps on my cream, why could that be ? I read that it’s because the cream cheese may be cold that it needs to be at room temperature, but this recipe calls for cold cream cheese, could someone help me out pls and thank you in advance ❤
@lightofthecross4513I tried this recipe and the taste is amazing but why does my powder sugar not melt? I can still feel the sugar powder in mouth while eating the frosting. And my frosting was loose too, it got thin . Plz help😢

@KV-bp1slFinally a good recipe. Thank uuuuuu. It s so good and firm! Too sweet for me tho, I'd add way less sugar in it, but stabilize it with a tablespoon of cornstarch. You go girl! 💪😚

@mariabantillobarnaba33281 cup of room temp unsalted butter
4.5 cups of powdered sugar
1.5 cups of cold cream cheese
1.5 tsp vanilla
1.5 tbs lemon juice
Whip butter for 3-4 minutes on medium-high
Add powdered sugar in thirds

Add lemon juice and vanilla and mix
This is exactly what I needed to watch to encourage me to try this. Short and sweet and not complicated plus the hard mixer is exactly what my Mother uses. Will certainly try it: thank you!
@ThirtythreeApartmentThank you!, I did it, at the end, I sifted it and put it into the freezer, and it was great, super moist, smooth and without lumps!
@claudiasalasvarela88Is the lemon juice optional?

@vilmamelitante8714Thank you mam.
@subhasissen8868Hi there, thank you so much for your wonderful videos. Love how you explain everything. I have made a choc cake this afternoon. Can I cover the cake with this and then use what is left for piping? I have the frosting in the fridge for the moment. Do I need to let it get to room temp and mix it again before using it in the morning? Sorry for asking such short notice.
@SimpleHomeSkillsJust made this the other day it’s amazing this will be my go to yummy
