Important Video Notes: At 3:23 - it makes a difference whether those viruses in that illustration are enveloped or not. If the viruses lack envelopes, the viruses usually do lyse this cell membrane. If they are enveloped, the viruses usually (some exceptions) would exit this eukaryotic cell without lysing.

Also, there are some intriguing viruses that are exceptions. For example, while viruses are smaller than their host cells, there are some types of viruses that are very large and potentially larger than some of the smaller bacterial cells!
