What is a secure "tunnel"? When I started to learn about computers the name confused me. I couldn't imagine how it works on a technical level. In this video we build upon knowledge from the previous videos, to develop an intuition for what a tunnel, VPN or proxy is.
When trying to explain a rather complex term it’s better to not throw python into it as well.

Could it be said, that the difference is - tunnel is an additional layer within a given protocol, while proxy is basically an additional intermediary in that protocol? Namely - tunnels are implemented "vertically" while proxies "horizontally" in the whole data transmission process?

@enrique-zarate4594I have a question about the encryption. The data is encrypted when it is sent between us and the "VPN" server, where it is then decrypted and sent to the target server. But why is it okay to send raw decrypted data from the "VPN" server to the target? Do we expect that an attacker will be sniffing on only our network therefore if the requests sent through there are encrypted then we are safe? What if an attacker is sniffing the connection between the "VPN" sever and the target?
Sorry if you already covered this somewhere here and I missed it.

How can you build a multihop VPN tunnel that had three different exit nodes, and traffic is randomly sent out to the internet from those three..

this man worked on my pc he has connected to my local network , he thought I didn't know but I figured it out he is in control of my MacBook, I don't really understand all this but this is what I have on my network I also have 3 utun,. I figured out he made a tunnel like using a vpn to bypass my firewall how in the world am I ever going to get him out of my network.. he also has remote access he is sharing all my files, I think it is possible I might be wrong but he made a virtual machine when he worked on it that loops back to my ip he did all this thru powershell, I want rid of him I thought about turning him in to FBI for what he has done to me!!

As an end-user, old-days were better. The threads and processes and network-utilisation(70%) and promised SLA and... results in nothing much holding a computer ransom and make it retarded. Today, tunnels are need for every connection in order to implement QOS from routers to end-points and resteict everything to 70% so that devices do not become retarded during a background process, multi-tasking, multi-threading, multiple connections... the millennials screwed up things that used to work. Brute-force approach of barbarians ended-up with spastic-retarded reflections and excuses and personal-attacks as cover-ups.

@KopeksiVPNs sold by those VPN companies are snakeoil, designed to extract money from people who don't know anything about networking by selling them with "this will make you safe and ensure your privacy", which it doesn't and it doesn't, particularly if you don't know anything about networking. And of course "not using this is insecure", which is also mostly untrue.
Paying those VPN companies is a waste of money and resources. People who don't know any better and are too lazy to do research are being sold this snakeoil with the wildest promises and fearmongering. For the money they spend on those companies for their VPN providers, they could just as well rent a server on AWS or Azure or any other cloud provider and set up their own open vpn server and then some. Or just do what I did and set up a server at home, because accessing secure networks over an insecure medium is exactly what VPN is designed to do. I can access my printer, NAS and other internal services without exposing them to the internet directly. And what does it cost me? 3 hours of setting things up and 10 ct of electricity a month on my raspberry pi. And I get to run all the services I want on there along with it, including my own DNS server and IDS/IPS. Certainly not worth at all to waste money on vpn providers and other nonsense like that which you pay basically for slower internet and nothing else.

Using swIPE protocol I was part of a small team that implemented one of the first VPN tunnels over the internet with the tunnel running between two proxy based firewalls. I also implemented a DOS/Windows vpn client. This was around 1996. Later ipsec and TLS became available. Things have really changed now that encrypted comms is the norm : )

@marcelocabral389I am often struggling with proxy and reverse proxy. Isn’t it like that every reverse proxy is a proxy, it just depends on which side the client is? Maybe someone has a good explanation for me^^

A file is made up of a header data and the content data. How can we inspect the header data and where is the meta data stored - in the header? Are there common flags that indicate where the content data starts and ends? etc.
