Weird and Wonderful Wallets You Can Buy Right Now

Video Overview & Insights

Wallets are changing and getting weirder. Here are some of the strangest and most interesting wallets for your everyday carry.

The mechanism gives it enough personality to feel special without making the design loud.

This channel is here to give you ideas and inspiration when it comes to finding great Everyday Carry, Travel Gear and Gadgets, on the back of solid and detailed reviews alongside years of experience, which I hope will make life and travel just a little bit more frictionless and fun.

I see SECRID copycats and Apple only wallets here (based on tracking device compatibility). Also, would you really want your wallet attached to your phone in the UK, where police won't bat an eye at phone thefts?

Great video as usual Jon, some really good designs there with some clever features. I like clever design, I like minimalism, and have been on the hunt for my perfect minimalist wallet and I think i've found it. My wallet sits in my jeans arse pocket, so while I haven't tried any of these wallets, I have tried some similar, I don't like sitting on the hard rigid wallets. I also do like traditional materials. I've bought a hand made minimalist wallet from a small outfit in Singapore called Tauruscamp. The leather is superb quality hand vegetable dyed Italian buttero, the clever design comes in the fact that it is one piece of leather cut and folded on itself with one small row of superb waxed cotton saddle stitch, creating 4 pockets one of which is quick realease. I've got 6 cards in there (could get another couple) one a quick access, my driving license and some bank notes folded in half. I've been so impressed I'm going to upgrade it to the shell cordovan version. Wallets are a hugely personal thing, I love the Tauruscamp Grain wallet.

MOFT MagSafe Wallet Stand with Apple Find My

Help me out chaps, where are you keeping your cash? I think women tend to have a purse which includes cash with their cards. I don’t have much cash on me, but if nothing else a £1 trolley token is always needed. Where do you keep these things please?

I really like that Alpaka zip pouch, but if you want something a bit smaller and a lot cheaper, check out the Manhattan Portage coin wallet, I think that’s the name. I store all kinds of stuff in there that would never fit in a wallet

I use an “I-clip radio impact “ for 4 1/2 years which has room for an Apple AirTag and looks great! It holds my driving licence and 9 other cards.Also the clip can hold one or two 10 pound bills and still close the clip.

Blue Glasses or from Ahlem

Wallets? More like card holders. Or actually card scratchers. Plus if you make it out of aluminium soon it will look no better than the cards inside of it

I welcome any feedback on my videos or the channel in general in the comments. See below for more on this.

Amazing round-up Jon. The Coldfire wallet is among the best I’ve seen. I am a cash carrier so the other versions, while very interesting don’t fit the bill for me.

00:00 - Weird Wallets

Hi Jon. I'm torn..........I love the engineering and minimalist styling of these card wallets and so want to love them, but..............they just aren't suited to me needs. It's a standard old school folding leather wallet all the way for me. Wallets aren't just about cards. Primarily it has to be soft and comfortableI in the pocket. Room for a couple of cards is vital in case my phone has an issue, driving licence, micro pen, plasters, cash, receipts and other odds and ends as necessary plus a key and a tracker. Essentially for me it's a chap's equivalent of a ladies handbag, just in an already much smaller limited volume. The last thing I want is a solid uncomfortable one trick pony card wallet. Keep up the good work despite your bolides often costing me a small fortune.

Great Review as usual Mate! Couple of winners in there for sure!

I currently utilise the Frenchie Co Carbon Fibre Mini Speed Wallet and have done so since the Kickstarter Campaign in I think 2017 - great little unit with excellent card deployment and cash storage - but always on the lookout for the next….

Product Sourcing:

When it comes to sourcing a product for review, I will usually either  purchase and item personally or reach out to a supplier requesting a sample for review.  Many suppliers are supportive if they are confident in their product, appreciating the value of greater exposure.

Why don't I see the Victorinox Smart Card Wallet here? Have you already reviewed it earlier?

— @PerWilly1968

I am sometimes sent a product by a supplier which I may include if the product fits planned content and I believe will be of interest to you, my audience. The product needs to be worthy of a review and I always make it clear to the supplier that they cannot influence or be involved in the content in any way. It is not in my interest to review inferior or poor quality products and therefore as you might expect many product offers are politely declined.

Any sponsored videos (paid for reviews) are clearly stated as such so there can be no misunderstanding.

Thank you for covering the XSTO wallet. So many wallet and EDC channels do reviews and miss this one which I think is about the best on the market. I've been using one for 5 years myself and both my sons also use one. Amazing wallet.

— @Whaler_99

Sometimes a supplier will provide a link to the product or the supplier which I am happy to include in the description.  Sometimes I will be provided with an affiliate link so I can earn a commission on sales and this helps to support channel costs but never at the expense of an honest review. There is no cost to you and in some cases discounts can be obtained via the link or via an included code.

If a product I have reviewed is available from Amazon I will often include an Amazon link in the description.  As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. If you purchase a product or service with the links that I provide I may receive a small commission. There is no additional charge to you.

Two AI images in the first five seconds must be a record, Jon. You’re better than this.

— @NE77XH

Replying to Comments:

I really appreciate the feedback in the comments - I find it a source of knowledge and inspiration - so thank you to all of you who take the time to contribute. This is not just for me as the creator, it is a valuable source of information for all readers of the comments. I have recently found that if I continue to respond to all the comments as the number of videos builds, it takes significant time away from being able to produce new content which would be very counter productive! So my aim is to read everything I can and reply when I can, after each video goes live for the first few hours at least, and beyond that when possible.

since the ai ensh*ttification began I've been working to reduce how much I use and rely on technology that collects data. I can't quite make the commitment to mostly cash yet, but I do find it ironic that carrying cards is now considered low tech

— @elmadicine

Thank you for supporting the channel.

Great video as usual! Jonathan have you ever considered any of the Trayvax wallets?

I've carried the code 118 wallet, similar to the Esker wallet but cost half as much, it holds 5 cards and has a cash band

@dragonshadow9564

Is it just me or is the ACM card slide wallet disproportionately big and ugly for what is actually a very simple task, namely holding cards?

@apaul9776

Any leather is a no… but kangaroo skin? Hard NO!❌ Any pouches made of natural fibre like hemp?

Louis Vuitton bi-fold leather. Had for 10+ years as front pocket piece. Unbeatable in absolutely (virtually) brand new condition. Everyday carry and would never change. Bought in Paris and gifted. Current price check suggests $800.

Thanks Jon, you have been the cause of me having nothing in my wallet for a while now 🤣 I’ve been using the ASlim, I think it’s a business card holder, but it’s so slim adds nothing to the few cards, cash and a Fresnel lens, and I love it. Arcade belts are great too, no more loosing my trousers at the airport!

I do come back to the alpaka zip pouch again and again. This, along with a Peak Design MagSafe wallet get me through anything I need.

I love your vids and I love these wallets but none of them work for me as they don’t carry coins. I still need coins where I live for parking. I know it sounds crazy but it’s true.

I ditched wallets a long time ago. The best wallet is attached to your cell phone…..you’ll never lose your wallet.

Hey Jon, I just ordered an Akeeni wallet, and had a great conversation with Tobe, the creator of Akeeni. He knew immediately that I'd probably seen your video. :)

I ordered a plain aluminum wallet--not painted--with my company logo embossed into it. Tobe showed me his shop in FaceTime--really fascinating process.

Love your videos (but you cost me money!).

I still use the Alpaka Zip Clutch as my wallet. It's a little on the large side but fits a lot. I have my cards in there in individual card protector sleeves. I may have to consider one of these card ejector options though since I'm moving my phone to GrapheneOS, that means NFC payments are out.

@cr0ft-2k

Bought that Akeeni wallet when it was called the Stow. Horde 8 cards for like $55. It ate the edges of my CC like an alligator. I sold it quick. It was too gadgetry for me.

There are just so many to choose ! I have used the leather Secrid slim wallet every day for more than 10 years . They are excellent.

@MarkSmith-vb6su

The cold fire is the only one I’d be reluctantly ok to pull out to pay a bill with, the rest are too tech centric - tech with luxury leather would be nicer

Hi Jon
Love you channel
I've commented before about the trove wallet, I don't believe you replied last time, but if you haven't heard of them, they are a great little wallet that might be worth a little review ? They are made in UK and iv'e had one now for about a year and I love it
Please check them out
