Hey Lucy, great video! I believe your definition of the Oxford comma is not correct ( 8:52 ). Isn’t the Oxford or serial comma placed before the last item in a series of more than two items? Perhaps there is another aspect to this type of comma that I do not know, but I would be forever grateful if you could clarify. Thank you for your videos!

Good Lucy, I think you love what you are doing. Great recently, I saw a youtube video on comma usage. I was surprised the youtuber saying usage of comma before ‘and’ is optional, but if you use comma before and, then you should continuously use till the end. But I was taught not to use comma before and. I was in confusion. But on seeing this video, my doubt is clarified. That is common in American English, but not in British English.

I've been speaking and writing English for 58 years, and I don't think I've ever heard the term "isolating" in relation to commas. It's a very helpful notion in understanding common comma use. Thanks! It just goes to show that, no matter how practiced you are, you can always learn more or look at things a different way.
