What Earth in 2125 could look like - Iseult Gillespie
Video Overview & Insights
What could our future look like if we harness our technology to create a sustainable world? Take a look at the possibilities.
Not saying its not gonna happen, but problem is some countries will achieve, some don't, inequality will remain and continue
--
Faced with the realities of current crises, it’s easy to assume our world is headed in a bleak direction. But there’s good reason to be hopeful— with developments in science and technology, a positive future is more viable than ever before. So, what if the future was awesome? Iseult Gillespie explores what three cities could look like in 100 years if we harness the tools we have at our disposal.

A better future is possible, IF we can get out of our own Way. Let's do this.

I think the future will be very technological. Robots, artificial intelligence, and new inventions will help people in many areas such as work, health, and education.

Notice how it didn't include the minority of "human beings" who hoard billions and ressources while the rest of us are struggling ? Hmm...
More User Perspectives
Honestly I would hate having to use public communication all the time. Not having any sense of independence except for a bike. The other two sound way better honestly
@Reyu1_1Unfortunately, the current ruling generation thinks the world is at its best, and any change is for the worse, and this kind of thinking is what's destroying the world.
@khorkienjoo5292LA and the US won't ever have the will to implement these changes as long as nimbys control political influence.
@darexinfinityThis sounds nice!
@TheVeryEpicChannel9001WE HAVE ALL THE TOOLS FOR THIS TO BE POSSIBLE ALREADY!!!!! We need optimistic people and significant reform in government and restructuring of power and wealth distribution. This could be the future even sooner than 2125.
@Jaxon_C김해외고 20기 시험범위라서 들어온 사람 개추 ㅋㅋ
@butainan❣️ 🥰😘💯🫶🌟 💖
@tmver-e6mThe video should include how this could help economy also because to do this the country/city need good income and the no transport fee was not very logical because this doesn’t get the train any benefit it’s the same thing as letting a passenger on for free.
@mimi-kitten.0No way LOL
@vistacollege7459What is keeping this from happening is man and his propensity for power and greed.
@robkenner5456If only
@richarddwyer9443Lagos, Nigeria was mentioned
Nigerians come here and celebrate
I think this video frustrates me because it lists off technological feats but never the social change needed to support them. Do technicians and entertainers in LA still need to pay for food and shelter? If not, why are they doing what they do? Are Nigerian workers satisfied with the loss of their jobs sand-mining? Are goods being traded globally? Do people travel by plane? What on earth is a ‘citizen scientist’ and how useful in actuality is several million people looking over chemicals that we already understand quite well? Or is this done by AI, in which case, what do people do for occupation?
I’m all for green cities. But putting ‘urban’ in front of agricultural practises doesn’t at all explain how we’re going to neutralise our carbon footprint and environmental impact without undoing progress in standards of living.
Its possible, but first we have to end capitalism :)
@kiviacosta6538I literally can’t believe there is possibility of being alive in 2125 cuz I’m teen I’m scared and excited omg
@Hina-pr1iqFishing? That's not an optimistic future 😢...
@ElDiosMashiarThis is ridiculous. We can’t even get bus systems to work!
@Mosdefinitelyableplease lord
@joaquinamertzWe do have the will and the skill but many people with $$ know it won't create revenue for them
@stephaniehale3379Hopefully My reincarnation will reveal what already happened in 2125
@anjamkoye2342This video will age like milk
@Birdguy1121:00 Ah yes, and what will keep people from abusing this system?
@Foreslake1000Earth will be a wasteland by then. Nuclear or otherwise. there really IS no [point in fighting for it, because the most powerful people on Earth won't change one bit. All we can do is enjoy what time we have.
@corjonbettAnd that's another episode of WHAT IF
@hyenicoA future without israel 🎉
@tasnifkhanshiam5711I think they missed the part about transcontinental bombing
@zigadiboom98Just out of pure curiosity, isn’t the description of 2125 LA very similar to the ideology of communism?
@kleec495What an interesting future science video! 🤩
@MyYoutube-o1rI'm sorry, but who paid you to give us false hope?
China is China-ing
Trump is triumphantly trumping
Australia voted OUT the greens out of the house of reps
India is too impoverished & over populated
Birth rates outnumber death rates
Just tell us decade by decade what to expect so that we can make decisions, such as should I have children? Should I not go on holiday & save the money for the next generation? Would we starve? Will crime rates go up & to what degree?
Oh & by the way, right at the beginning you even said this is based on a hopeful IMAGINATION of "solar punk"

@iraf.official😎😎😎😎
@iraf.officialaa yo wht kind of optimism it takes to imagine this
@theviper3479cringe. california should solve their water crisis by restoring the massive freshwater lake they drained in the middle of it, not whatever that solution is supposed to be.
@AtomicCat_YTAfrica (India also to anextend) is not changing in next 200 - 300 years unless West takes the matters in its own hands (I do not mean another colonialism).
@jordaster_De_GorsaYou are expecting a lot from the Gen Z and subsequent Gen Alpha.
@jordaster_De_GorsaSeriously you haven't thought about desalination plants for water problems? if my third world country can afford to built a desalination plant which had been operational last year btw so does LA
@commandostryker304this video should get to the presidents and leaders of these countrys!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@GleninaBuys
