I'm a heavy stummer too (voice too loud ; ). The original Taylor GS-mini with spruce top factory issue 13-56 strings can be played LOUD without any sign of being overpowered. A short-scale powerhouse which is sweet as a nut and is well balanced.

Going back through many of your videos, there's something that would be greatly enlightening: sharing your eq settings (and complete chain settings actually). I am a big believer in the adage that "your sound is in your hands", but when listening to the same player, different instruments, different settings and very different tones... it would provide such insight to know everything that is going into a particular recorded tone. Just a thought. Great appreciation for your channel sir. Keep up the good work.

I would say If you cannot afford a mid- high end priced quality guitar. Get a Sigma (AMI branded now) guitar is good enough as entry price tag. I got both Sigma and Bourgeois in my daily practises.

Interesting video. My lawsuit-era Korean dreadnaught has spent years in attics, car trunks, thrown around apartments, it's never had a case, etc, for the better part of 50 years now. I just cleaned and polished it for the first time ever, and replaced the strings that were put on in 1979.
Plays and sounds great. Either I am lucky, or, missing something. HAHA.

9:28 how do you overhumidify the guitar by using anti-humdity packets??

pick it up and strum an e cord and listen or have someone else play it so you can hear it .

I have a Taylor 214ce DLX. It came with a buzzing which began on the 3rd B and G strings. Five visits to the dealer for tune-ups were of no help, a waste of time and money. The 1-year warranty ran out. Tech said: neck relief inconsistent, fret level required, new saddle, new setup after fret leveling. The guitar came from the factory needing all these repairs. It played well 2 visits ago to the Taylor Tech, but BEWARE of the buzzing. Found buzzing on same strings on other Taylors too. Several of the guitar specialists I spoke with have said they no long own a Taylor. That says so much!

I contacted Taylor letting them know that I and many others I spoke with believe they have structural flaw in their product. They did not want to hear about it! They seem to be focusing on making a good profit rather than a good product which would in turn lead to good money.

I would never recommend this guitar to anyone.

Guys fall in love with guitars like they do women, because of how they look. But if the neck, body and electronics are sh*t…they are worthless. Same goes for guitars.

My first acoustic guitar was a Yamaha nylon string lower-end model in the early ‘70s. I went from that to a Gibson ES335 in 1980, which was a GREAT guitar. But now, I’m looking for an acoustic electric and I’m going to look at both the Taylor 214ce-N and the Yamaha NTX3, but to be honest, I’m leaning toward the Yamaha.

Excuse my ignorance but are any of the online guitar academies wirth using for a beginner?

I know it's getting harder the more used to just buying from the internet we get, but physically handling a guitar and playing it can tell you heaps, like if you actually like the sound. The other thing is get a quote for a local luthier for a set-up and get their opinions on guitars in your price range. I remember back in 2005/6 I was shopping for my second acoustic and I was able to play a bunch of guitars in different stores. I had a few in mind I liked but was having trouble picking. I happened to park next to a luthier who was making $10-20k instruments and I popped my head because why not, right (I think I had $350 to spend)? He very kindly heard what I was up to and said, "for that money, definitely try and find a Cort." I went back to the shop that had a Cort I liked and never regretted it.
