Video Overview & Insights

it takes me an average of 6 years to seek professional help

— @juih4748

Depression is the leading cause of disability in the world; in the United States, close to ten percent of adults struggle with the disease. But because it’s a mental illness, it can be a lot harder to understand than, say, high cholesterol. Helen M. Farrell examines the symptoms and treatments of depression, and gives some tips for how you might help a friend who is suffering.

Why tf-- do I find almost all of the comments relatable here 😭😭

Also, here's a link to a Bible study that looks at depression from a spiritual perspective. Our desire is simply to help, encourage, and point others to the hope found in God's Word. Link: www.youtube.com/@ChurchofGodBibleStudy

Depression is when your brain stops being able to create copes and delusions, and you are only left with the grim, cold reality of life and existence.

grumbling is a sin that is hard to master, God disciplines His children who grumble, about politics their relationships with family and friends, their job, their security etc.etc.the list goes on and on God will take His rest away for the sin of grumbling, keep it away from your home, work, everywhere you go. Confess it to the Father and move ahead in the wonderful life only God can Give. grumbling also takes God's happiness away that He shares with His chidren. Understand your eternal security that you can never lose. You are just a visitor in this tiny little planet, God has set you free. and this freedom you did not earn or deserve it was the Grace of God through His Son that set you free. Keep your eyes away from people, places, or things and always pray for wisdom from above. Grumbling is depressing. The Jews Grumbled in the wilderness and God disciplined them and took His rest away from them. Satan is the biggest grumbler of all God's creatures. Love you Charlie in the power of Christ.

This video came out a decade ago and probably no one is ever going to see this, but I'm just going to say it. I'm 15 right now and its summer and I'm going into 10th grade. I've been dealing with depression since 8th grade. It started when my dog died and I told people about it. The bullies at school laughed and pointed at me. I tried to shrug it off but they kept on pushing me and pushing me. This went on for months, and I kept bottling it up inside because I thought they would keep being dicks to me if I let my emotions out. But they kept bullying me. Eventually I snapped and started crying during PE. I said I'm going to kill myself and kept pretending to point a gun at my head and pretending to pull the trigger. You know what happened? One of them said I hope you do that to yourself. I wanted to jump in front of a moving train once. I wanted to escape this world and just see what was on the other side. Now that I'm not dealing with them anymore, I've been feeling a lot better. If you are dealing with depression, believe in yourself. Because I believe in you.

So many people don't understand depression. It's so easy to throw labels like "sick" "menal unstable" when there's zero understanding.

I'm dealing with a prblm with my mom. I always put a towel over my mirror as I get distracted by looking at myself on the mirror while studying. I either do that or open my closet door as mirror is attached on the door so I open it to hide the mirror. When I said abt this to my mother she thinks I hv some mental issues and always scolds me when I keep the door open telling me that I better stop this mental prblm. Now I'm jst sad thinking abt it. Prblm is the way she talk to me in such a rude and insulting manner. It's like she's disgusted with me or something.

Unfortunately I think this video is a little misleading. Comparing depression to asthma is a terrible idea because asthma can’t be beat, depression ABSOLUTELY can. I can relate to “at least 5 of the symptoms” yet I’m incredibly happy in life, so I’m worried people will watch this and go “oh my appetite changed and I’m in a bad mood, therefore I’m depressed and there’s nothing I can do about it” which is incredibly harmful. You can always better yourself no matter how terrible you view your situation, don’t give up just because someone says you’ve been “diagnosed” with something. Even cancer can be beat if you’re lucky, so why not depression too

The thing is in my personal experience the only thing that's worse than depression is the fact that I'm bi polar, it's like being teased with a taste of happiness again only for it to be ripped away all over again.. I don't know why but for me feeling that crash into dispare after each fleeting peak of mania makes the lows feel even worse.. sometimes I wish I just had depression fullstop the constant flipping and flopping feels like a form of self inflicted torture...

Luke 1:37:

"Nothing is impossible with God"

This verse reminds us that no circumstance or challenge is beyond God power.

Never give up on god because he never gives up on you.

No sin is too big for God to forgive.

God wants a relationship with you

God loves you💜
