Until the fragile national electrical grid is included at the beginning of all videos then utter confusion will continue and governments will change for the wrong reasons.

The Australian national electricity grid is fragile and lightweight because it is extremely expensive to EXPAND and too valuable to waste with fragile nuclear reactors.

When you include the grid footprint within the nuke plant footprint then you are thinking like a real engineer. 🤔

Construction engineers include extent of what has to be built and UNIT COSTS.
To replace CO2 emissions, consider the following.

245 TWh in 2023. Electricity energy in Australia.
6,470 TWh in 2023. Total energy used in Australia.

Electricity 245,000 GWh in 2023
245,000 GWh ÷ 6,470,537 GWh = 3.8%

26 times more clean electricity
26 times more electricity grid capacity
Australian grid is $TRILLIONS and 100 years to build.

26 times more for a country with a $1TRILLION GDP.
And decades and decades and decades of construction.

Fragile nukes on the fragile national electrical grid, FMD.😮 And don't call me Shirley.

Nukes will need massive amounts of mass battery storage for stability and grid protection.
Dirt-cheap rooftop PV electricity filling mass storage batteries will not need fragile nuclear reactor plants.

Until the fragile national electrical grid is included at the beginning of all videos then utter confusion will continue and governments will change for the wrong reasons.

What is nuclear energy? A blight on humanity. Dangerous. Unnecessary.
People decry its safe, hogwash. Anything can happen and does. Fukushima, Chernobyl and almost, in the Ukrainian war, the Zaporizhzhia power plant that got bombed. Plus there's the radioactive waste disposal. Sell crazy somewhere else.

Thanks for making such an informative and nonbiased video! I just want to point out that the way we deal with the nuclear waste has to change. As mentioned at the end of this video, currently, the spent fuel is disposed under regulations from the government. The spent fuel from the most common type of reactor, “light” water reactor”, consist of 94% of Uranium 238, 3% of fission products, 1% of plutonium, and 1% of Uranium 235. Except the fission products, all other 97% of the waste containing heavy metals can be reused as fuel with existing reprocessing technologies. So far, most reactors are not designed to have any recycling mechanism and more than 70,000 metric tons of nuclear waste and spent nuclear is stored in more than 77 reactor sites across the country. At expected rates of use, Uranium 235 for the “light” water reactor will goes to depletion in 20 to 200 years. All these facts indicate that the current approach of fuel cycle is unsustainable and will leads to source and storage crisis. The best solution for it is to recycle the spent fuel, instead of tossing them away like trash after a single use
