There are mine shafts and tunnels that linked the WH and other sites, before they were memorials.

Just visited - the basement area is undergoing a major renovation scheduled for completion in 2026 - part of a larger initiative to improve the visitor experience, transforming into a museum, expanding exhibit space, adding new restrooms, and upgrading the elevator

If people knew the truth about him...there would be NO memorial.

What is the function of that basement? Why not just stabilize the ground or build a foundation to put the memorial on?

They are renovating the memorial now and cleaning it up. There will be a museum open to the public in the basement area around 2025. See it again then! The columns and marble is being cleaned now. Looking great!
