I'm from Brazil and I don't understand much English, but I want to learn more about golf, and this video has a good explanation and is very creative. Thank you.

When I was 20 yrs old Grampaw used watch me hit practice balls at the range and say “imagine that club is a woman. You gotta dance with her, you gotta feel her, you got make the right moves so that she can follow. And, if you’re lucky, you’ll get lucky……and hit the ball like a pro!”.

Grampaw was awesome!

Craig has been Voted Best Online Swing Analysis be several independent surveys.

Granted, I'm brand new to this, but I always thought your left shoulder to clubhead need to be a straight line through the entire swing. I can't wait to practice this next time I go to the range. Thanks for this

I know it's hard for me to do and probably be most amateurs because we are swinging the club independently and I know you're supposed to use your body with swinging the club but I just can't grasp it after 30 years and it really really pisses me off..

@rackum44
@

I get caught dragging the handle with this move, but when it works, it works!

@koleka3233
@

OK so what drill should I do

@HAZE3047
@

its not that we don't know we need to do this...but HOW. you can bow your wrist and pull the club handle down but how do you release it in time? I think most amatures including myself get halfway down and go "well im going to miss the ball or swing over it if i dont throw the club towards the ball now" The hardest thing in golf for me is understanding delivery position where your arms are at your thigh and the club is parallel to the ground, into impact.

what do you do ?
are you flexing your trail wrist?
are you decelerating the club?
are you making a chopping motion?

its so confusing.

also, as I try to come into impact with bent wrists like that it feels so weak. Now im supposed to throw my right hand at the ball? well i just add loft and top and thin.

the golf swing looks sooooooo simple yet its impossible

@Isaiah820
@

You'll annoy the hell out of the people around you at the range with that wrist contraption.

@chuckwalla2967
@

In my opinion, the most important camera angle is from the player's perspective looking down. This is what we see when swinging the club. The other angles are important and helpful. The face-on angle can be very misleading because it is not showing the swing plane.

@OldJoeClark-k4j
@

That float move at transition is actually very natural if you let it happen.The body turning back toward the target is what causes the wrists to set. Its a lot like fly fishing and just about all of the great ballstrikers had it. I can do it with chips and pitches but getting more to a full swing and everything just goes haywire.

@Grayback1973
@

You have to make sure your hands are ahead of your ball with irons, and strike ball (compress they call it, but you can compress without using the turf as the friction, with a good break slap and pull).

@ndowroccus4168
@

Fun fact as a low handicapper: if it’s been a few weeks since I’ve played because of work, the first body part that gets sore the next day is when I supinate the forearm. Once you get the hip movement down, it really is about the arm release at the bottom and the forearm rotation, keeping that palm in the optimal position on impact.

Good video to understand why. Not only that it’s what I’m trying to teach my friends that are high 80’s/low 90’s that it’s the next step. They’ve got the contact (step 1), they’ve got the hips (step 2), they need the compression which is what your teaching here to allow you to power through the ball and really feel like your getting it.

I will say I was dying today trying to find out what I changed so much in my swing by missing 1 week of golf finally starting to get consistent again after all day having none

@jeremygilley624

Nice

@jthsolomontech
@

This squares the face on the x and the y axis. It eliminates a flip. Flipping causes a glancing, spinny blow that can go anywhere.

@jordangourley3955

I agree with the issue and I have it but it is easier said then done to fix it. So I know what mistakes I make but it is hard to correct I find

David Duval releases it the same way. Pretty sure these are the Mike Austin wrist movements

@jessecooper9795
@

Big questions...how do you grip the club, and what tension grip level 1 to 10 and type Vardon? Lack of information of a key point if you talking about a picture location. 🤔

@Tigersmundo
@

I recently compared my swing to Adam Scott.
When playing I strike it very pure and quite consistent. But it is when I actually filmed myself I realized how amateurs like me is compared to professionals. I never knew my swing was so ugly until I saw it on camera. We amateurs play with the body we have. The pro's actually train their body so that they can do those lag movements and maximizing rotation.

@MysticPotato
@

Great information! Some instructors say to snap your wrist at the bottom, then roll the forearms over. Personally, at 77, I don't have the hand and eye coordination for that move. This is applied much easier relating to lag and downswing. Always a mission in progress. Thanks, I'll be trying this for better ball striking. Take care and be well.

@DonPodlas
@

goddamn it.. i used to have this feeling during the transition, that my wrist would store up energy, but my stupid ass golf teacher made me remove it since he said it was casting.. it fked up my swing for 6 months before i realized he was full of shit

@Borrelaas
@

Playing around at the range with my sand wedge I learned pretty early about how lag effected club head speed, when I started hitting 90 yard sand wedge shots (a 2 handicap).

@stevefowler2112

The amount of knowledge on this channel compared to most golf instruction online is honestly crazy.

Tried this move at the range today and instantly started striking my irons cleaner. Great video.

@johnsamson_uk
@

Craig, the way you explain the golf swing is just different to everyone else. Everything actually makes sense.”

@Thomas00a
@

It's confusing because we're told not to hold wrist angles but also to create lag using wrist angles. Seems contradictory.

@IcyBrook
@

The visuals are really helpful for me. I need to go and get one of those over sized iron heads to help me visualize what I’m doing. The rabble tennis request really helped with the feel off what my hands should be doing.

@johnbrennan4461
@

Thanks Craig, great video. One question, should the driver be this closed also at the this point in the swing.

@dewgolfsmichigan8023
@

I kid you not. I've been working on this over the past month with the pre set drill. I was playing off 5 about 10 years ago when I stopped, just started again. Working on my swing plain and wrist angle. If you start getting closer as per this video you will compress that ball like a pro and it feels great when you get it right. Great lesson mate.

@wonkywheels103
@

I've been using the paintbrush/paddle move and made two greens in regulation today that I've never been able to reach before my lessons with Craig!! What an awesome feeling. one of the holes, I chipped it on close to the pin and 1 putt due to my chip/putt lessons with Craig. 😊

@michelestaples2775
@

Thanks Craig. This is hands down the best golf instruction on YouTube. The way you explain the WHY behind the movement is on another level.

@永劫无间大合集

I’ve been playing golf 25 years and honestly never understood transition properly until this video. Unreal explanation.
